Hello and welcome to Android Forums anuska159!

Judging by your CSC code, SIM, you have Slovenian, LPG, firmware on your phone.

First of all we need to check that your CF-Root kernel, that you are using to root, matches your original, stock, kernel, as per post #1....

Kernel. Your choice of CF-Root kernel depends on the kernel you currently have installed on your phone.

Settings > About phone > Kernel version (make a note of this in case of problems)

Once you have ascertained which kernel version you are currently running you will need to go here.

So could you post the full details of your original stock kernel for your firmware as well as the CF-Root kernel you have used for rooting.

Hi There,

Sigh... here goes, you've heard this before. Not such a n00b, have sucessfully rooted a galaxy ace in the past. However, I followed the instructions in the first few posts to the letter. except for the fact i didn't note down my phones details! Huge DOH!

Now when booting up the phone it shows the yellow triangle screen and then goes black... I have tried the wipes detailed in the first post to no avail.

As i said i didn't note down the the details I should have noted. but the kernel I downloaded was apparently the right one as I checked and double checked the numbers. the three digits were LPH and the kernel I dl'd was CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPH-v5.2-CWM5.tar

The phone is a uk model s2 GT-I9100p from O2

Any help would be gratefully and humbly received

phew! just tried and LPI kernel and looks like it works!

tried the next one up as advised earlier
thanks for all the advice posted here it helped

great post very clear and easily followed ........ it was while following through the guide I realized my volume down button has apparently developed an issue .....so no rooting for me till the parts arrive!! ......big thanks to all involved and look forward to rooting my s2 asap :):)

Hello and welcome to Android Forums taqdu! :)

As per post #1, your kernel does not follow the usual number/letter convention. Therefore you must use the Build number, LPY, to select your kernel.

CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_LPY-v5.6-CWM5.zip

Have amended the instructions in post #1 to cover the anomalies in the ICS kernel numbering convention, that has been causing problems when trying to find a suitable CF-Root kernel for rooting.

I have also included rooting for the Jelly Bean, leaked, release as well.

Hopefully, this will help make things clearer, and easier, for those wishing to root ICS and JB stock firmware.

Hello Ironass, nice to meet you
i followed your guide to root my galaxy S2 i9100T, everything went well except after rebooting, i get a black screen after the triangle screen. I tried wiping the cache partition and dalvik cache, but no effect.

These are my details

PDA : I9100TDULPB

PHONE : I9100TDULP4

CSC : I9100TVAULP8

and i used CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LPB-v5.2-CWM5-PROPER.

Hope you can help.
Thanks :D

Hello and welcome to Android Forums gaz_armo! :)

If the OXX-LPB kernel is not working for you I would suggest using the Siyah kernel mentioned in post #1, which is suitable for all ICS firmwares.

You do not need to flash a stock firmware to root.

You are already running stock ICS, Android 4.0.3, for the GT-i9100T, Vodafone, Australia.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums es82mod! :)

To root JB you will need to flash the PhilZ kernel .tar as per posts #1 & #2.

Thanks for the quick answer :-)

I tried post #1 and #2, when the phone rebooted, the triangel showed and the phone started perfectly but no root accses..... :-(
I migth have done something wrong, so i will try it again ;-)

Did superuser or supersu get installed. If not download one of those from the play store and you should be good.

Non of them got instald, so i dowloaded supersu, and when i started that program, it said it dident have root accses......

Edit: just check again. There is no "su binary"???

i downloaded Busybox, and it is not woeking.... Downloaded rootchecker and guess what.... no proper root access :-/
