Root Rooting the Huawei Ascend for Cricket users!

ok kewl, ill check it out! what would deleting my factory apps do. i think imma go ahead and root and flash? my phone, will u be on for a bit, just in case i need ya help?

it is, rooting just gives you right/ownership of the phone so you can delete bloatware thats keeping your phone from performing at it's best. but flashing roms is roms that have been modified and tweak to give it the speed it craves for...:D
 
ok,kewl...and maybe one more thing b4 i root, i not using a computer, well i have one but its slow and laggy, and would prefer using my phone, whats better

well, hard to say but if you have no wifi i suggest the computer cause with the phone downloading at 1x it will never download right, and would be corrupted or even stop at one point, but you will need a computer to put cwm recovery on the phone, you also can use terminal emulator to install it but pc is easier and faster and i would recommend using computer.
 
i do have wifi, imma root now, and flash later...wish me luck, well imma go to the store first then come back and root and hopefully flash, will u b around in like 45mins

yes you can backup everything with cwm, just in case something goes bad in flashing a rom, and also we have the stock recovery files for both carriers also, Out Of Box state.
 
so i tried to cwm and no luck, i followed the steps but nothing, should my phone b off when i volume down, end key, power button...but im seeing 2 different steps 1 says to volume down ect., and another says volume up ect, im confused

yes it should, download the file CWM 2.5.1.8.rar and extract it to desktop, next power off your phone and fastboot it by holding vol down, end key, and tap power, it should stay on the white huawei screen, next open the file and run fastboot-windows than run install-recovery-windows, after you have done that, disconnect the usb cord and pull your battery wait 10 sec than put the battery back in. Next press and hold vol up, send key, and tap power, it should now boot into recovery and it should be green and black.
 
not working, im using modzilla and ststes it needs to know how to open file, should i use windows, and i powered off, dwn and end button, at white huawei screen & usb connected, am i harming my device usb connected,

You can use ROM manager to get cwm unless you want to install icarus. (you need older version for that). Also, if you are trying to back up using titanium bu, back up apps + data.
 
hello all, so i tried to install the cwm and extracted the files, up vol, end and pwr button and got an update failed unpacking message...what did i do wrong
