Root S-on S-off

I have s-on with a custom rom. Adaway or Adfree will not work because of this. Is there any way to gain s-off again without flashing new rom. Any help would be appreciated. I like the rom I am using but would like to block ads as well.

Yes, all you have to do is re-root the phone with either rEVOlution or unrEVOked depending on what you originally used to root (your h-boot #)

because i had uninstalled htc sence and thought it was bricked. I came to this page explained that i had regained s-on and was told to flash mikg rom. I used revolutionary originally. Which method should I use now?

If your h-boot is 2.15 or 2.16 that is the correct one to use

If your h-boot is 2.10 or below run unrevoked

If your unfortunate enough to have accepted the OTA to h-boot 2.18 your going to have more issues.


If you remove sense and want it back on there all you have to do is wipe ONLY dalvik cache and cache and re-flash your ROM. This will not erase any of your data

Try running revolutionary, if that doesnt work we may have to fully unroot and then re-root you.

The number you gave looks like your baseband or radio version.

You have to power down the phone and then press power+volume down to get to your h-boot screen (the screen where it says S-ON or S-OFF

Example:
SUPERSONIC EV2-3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT- 6.16.1002 (6.16 instead of 2.16 because its rooted)
ECT

ok so you will need to run a ruu to fully unroot you. try using this ruu:Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites! download it and run it on your computer. make sure that you have usb debugging turned on your phone. and set it as charge only.

try some aosp rom like cm7, deck's, or the xplod rom. you will need to flash the gapps file and maybe the qualcomm drivers as well to get gps working correcty.

I'd suggest giving Tommy's Classic EVO a go.

Or MikG senseless with a different launcher. Stable, but doesnt look as stock

which roms are senesless? do they come that way, or do you have to de sense them?
