Samsung Fascinate Lounge

Well gang just landed a new job here. The training thing just wasnt working out like I hoped so I had been looking for awhile. Its security work which is right up my alley in terms of previous experience and what not. Still might do some side training but that definitely is back burner and now Im doing this other job full time.

Well congrats. I need to change it up myself but interviewing is like dating...its all a lie. I may say that I can motivate anyone and increase productivity throughout...but what I'm really going to do is find my superstars, give them a raise....and cut the dead weight! But no one wants to hear that before you they give you the position lol!

congrats on the new job and 5k posts ;)
Thanks buddy :)

My wife wants to move us to St Louis (where she's from) and I'm really not feeling a move right now, but I've begun the job hunting process as well. I HATE writing resumes! Heck, I hate the whole process.

Well I finally got my new TV, in the end I went with a Sharp AQUOS. Its an LED-LCD and I must say its pretty damn stunning. I just got it so I dont have a Blu-Ray or even HD service yet. But just some of the OTA HD channels look stunning. The color vibrancy sold me on the AQUOS. I cannot say Im disappointed. Its only a 46" though which is as small as I was looking but it was 33% off so I justified it. I wouldnt mind the 55" but it was literally double the price so this was the more prudent move. 46" isnt small and actually the room Im in sitting 8' away its fine

I think people default to the 55" TV's for living rooms...but usually, that's not really needed. I'm sure the 46" will work out fine for ya. Hell, I grew up with the TV in the living room (biggest TV in the house) being 28" :D

Enjoy!

Congrats on new job and new tv steve. I have been busy lately but wanted to pop in and say hey to everyone, and say wheres my froyo...o wait its on my phone I forgot ;) hope everyone is doing well

Thanks guys. Im pleased as punch with it and the size is very much good enough. Bigger might be better for the next one :p. Now I need a Blu-Ray player. Some people are trying to insist since I have a Sharp AQUOS TV I need a Sharp BluRay. Thoughts? I was frankly just going to get something decent from Samsung or Sony for like $100. Ordered my HDMI cables online. Amazon had 3 for $7 free shipping, score.

I got a Samsung Blu Ray after all. Too good of a deal to pass up. Its one with wifi and it was still just $100. Anyway, I ended up switching work days with someone and guess what. Im off tomorrow. Hmmm, will I be drinking Guinness and watching march madness all day? I'll give you two guesses ;)

Tourney starts today and I'm heading to my sister's place where I won't be able to watch a minute of it...

Congrats on the job, TV, and Blu-ray player saps. Wish I had yesterday off, though I did end up drinking a Guinness last night and tonight, so at least there's that :D Have fun watching the tournament everyone (sorry Kabob :( ) Go SU!

been awhile since anyone posted in here!

anyway seems like a lot of the early fascinate posters have moved on from af or are just not as active.

i find myself posting almost only at xda these days where a few months ago it was the opposite.

i think af is a great forum, but pretty much everything is released at xda (my themes included) and its tough to support the same convos/threads on multiple forums.

id still be more active most likely is a lot of the old school members were still active....i remember saps and myself posting like hundreds of times per week back in oct/nov/december :o

but alas its a newer crop of people around..and thats fine...but frankly a little sad

Yeah, I find myself browsing the forums a lot less often of late. I'm getting a bit fed up with Samsung's complete lack of support for our phone and it is putting a dent on my desire to be active in the community.

I know rooting is an option but I want my phone to work straight out of the box.

Been busy with new job and honestly now I watch my HDTV a lot when I used to post.

My Grandma is literally on her deathbed now too [any day now] and thats no good per se but she is just suffering and almost a vegetable now. Mercifully I hope she passes for her own sake and those who watch her suffer

GhostTown City USA

yeah :o

not giving my af sign off or anything...but im mostly done posting here. i pop in occasionally when i remember too. but between xda, twitter, irc, uncutandroid, i dont really have the desire to talk/post here.

it was a great run here for awhile...but its a whole new crowd basically and more often than not i have no desire to reply to any posts or start new threads..so thats kinda where im at :(

Yeah xda has had a nice little resurrection I see. Im in a similar boat but I still will log in here from time to time. A moderate exodus to the TBolt as some predicted from some of the familiar names. Thats fine.
Still this was and is a great place. But as life goes on things do change. My new job offers me zero ability to be online and in my free time at home I rarely do "phone stuff." C'est la vie

I'd just like to say thanks to the both of you! I can't count the number of posts the two of you responded to and I'm sure you have both helped a lot of people either improve their Fascinate or get themselves out of some "Uh Oh!" type moments.

I know you guys (and many of your old posts) helped get me up to speed on the Fascinate when I got it. But alas...that device was just intended to "tide me over" until the Thunderbolt arrived.

Hopefully I'll still see you both around! :D

Still miss the samoled screen though but glad to have the extra 0.3 inches...not to mention 4G :o

Yeah, a lot of the original people have moved on it seems. This place really has been extremely dead. A consequence of the quick life of a smartphone now I guess. I am checking xda more than here, simply because it has seen more activity than here as of late. Plus, things get released there anyway before they come here. Also, I haven't had nearly the amount of time I had when I first got the phone. This has been an excellent resource and I couldn't have done half the things I have with this phone if it weren't for all the helpful people here (saps, nitsuj and many others) :) I'm still sticking around though, my Fascinate isn't going anywhere anytime soon :D
