Help Samsung Moment Tethering

Hey Cheesemoo -
Do you get a stabel connection with Azilink?
I get about 30 minutes then it disconnects and get a message on the DOS window that shows something like WSEAconn?REFUSED.
I then have to reboot the Wni7 laptop and turn off and ON the Moment to get a new connection again.
Any ideas.

Sadly I have no good news for you. I have both Azilink and PdaNet working with my Moment, and both will work for a while. Then I have to reboot the Moment, and it works for another little while. Very annoying, but it seems to be a problem with the Moment, and I have no idea why.

I just got a new Moment and can NOT get it recognized by my computer.

My computer is running on Vista but I can NOT get PC studio to fully install.

I have changed the settings on the Moment to enable all the USB functions as indicated by discussion thread, but all this has only frustrated me.

...so this might be a PC problem. Any advise would be appreciated.

While my pdanet works great on my Moment has anyone developed a way to turn it into a wifi router? That is one thing I liked about my TP.

Also I find that pdanet works better if I turn the phone off/on before I use it.
Thanks

Hello there gentlemen, I'm trying to down load the drivers or the sasmsung Digital studio from the links and my phone says, "cannot load content is not supported on phone" I tried the junefabric site too and the same message. I have my phone to accept outside software too. I've checked of debugging. I've tried restarting .I have a moment running android 1 week old. Thank you for your help. Desy

The drivers should be downloaded to your laptop and installed there. I had no trouble with the link from junefabrics.

Just tyried to get azilink working on my new 64 bit Windoze 7 Pro. Worked great on XP. Couple of issues:

1. Machine didn't auto install drivers, or even ask (except to go online). Maybe there was a window hidden? No problem installing from Device manager. Windows got the USB drivers ok, but I didn manual for I think 3 others.

2. The link to start openvpn didn't work. I think it's looking for the executable in Program Files (x64) or something, and mine is in Program Files (x86).

%~dp0\adb\adb kill-server
%~dp0\adb\adb forward tcp:41927 tcp:41927
"C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenVPN\bin\openvpn.exe" %~dp0\OpenVPN\Azilink.ovpn

I edited the .bat file as above and I connect to the phone fine (shortcut run as administer). Just need to actually network with the phone to get a final verify.

Makes me wonder...Is my openvpn installed incorrectly, or the wrong version? My system has vanilla Program Files and Program Files (x86) but no Program Files (x64).

hey im new to the forums, and by using these tips i got pdanet to work and im using my phones Internet on my laptop to post this very message. ill probably start using azelink once the free trial is up on pdanet but thats beside the point.

im here to ask a question, earlier in this thread someone was sketched out about using too much data and that it might raise red flags. im here to ask what could sprint do as far as actions go if they think you use too much data? i have an unlimited data plan so can they legally do anything at all? and finally is there anyway for them to prove im tethering in the first place, i mean for all they know im just watching youtube videos nonstop right?

i ask this because im going through a transitionary phase in my life and part of that means living in a motel for 2.5 weeks with no internet other than my phone, i want to play online games but i can imagine it would use an enormous amount of data.

anyone with windows 7 64 bit get tethering working please offer me advice! pdanet i thought requires an extra download for the moment?

Also looking for Windows7 64 bit versions, and/or Wifi...

Although I do have XP as an alternative, but cannot quite piece together the steps to get it to work properly. Could someone post (or repost?) the most current and successful method to take?

Also, an OS update is coming in the next day or so that would be a prerequisite for the droid 2.1 OS; should I avoid getting this?

Thanks in advance

Just installed pdanet on my win 7 64 bit, went smoothly and working great I just followed the instructions from silverexpress, didnt need pc express just the stripped usb drivers

1. Make sure the Moment is not connected to your PC
2. Download and Install New Studio PC from the link above or
Download the stripped drivers from Studio PC a few threads up, and
store in some location on your hard drive.
3. Once the Studio PC installation is done, you can now download (if you haven't already) and install PDANET 1.17 on your laptop. It will stop with a pop up
and a list of instructions for moving forward with the installation.....

4. Now, on your Moment, you'll want to turn on "USB DEBUGGING".
Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB DEBUGGING
5. Connect the Moment to your PC. The PC will now start installing the
necessary drivers. If you've grabbed the stripped drivers, you'll have to
manually point the install to the folder locations.
6. Once all drivers are done. Hit OK on the PDANET installation prompt. The PC will now install PDANET on your Moment.
7. Once done. Go back to the Moment and look for PDANET. Turn it on while it's still connected to the PC. It should now make a connection.

I got mine working! I needed to install New PC Studio; nothing worked until i installed it fully.

In addition, the laptop did NOT install PDANet onto my phone. I had to go into the Android Market and download PDANet from there.

does that mean there's still no fix for the usb connection failing after awhile and having to restart the phone all over again? :(

I have to restart my phone now and then too, while tethering. It seems to be an intermittent problem. I thought it was attributed to my RSS feeds updating and/or my Exchange E-mail updating, as that seemed to be when it was taking place the most; however I'm not convinced that either has a direct correlation with my 'net' cutting out.

I AM in an EVDO area, so I don't know if that has something to do with it.

I have it working with PdaNet, have had it on for a few hours at a time with no loss of connection.

Has anyone experimented with the bluetooth feature?

I've been trying to get pdanet to work on my phone for about a week now, I finally got it to work. I took my phone in about 3 weeks ago and got it updated to CL14, I really can't tell much change. I have windows vista on my computer and I'm writing this post while tethering.

1. download Samsung's Digital World
2. download www.junefabrics.com
download android version for your computer (32bit or 64bit)
3. after downloads are complete follow instuction to install and run
pdanet on computer
4. put phone in debug mode and connect to computer
5. turn pdanet on on phone then on task bar on computer click on pdanet
click connect

I have downloaded everything correctly and got to the point where my computer is initializing connection with my phone, but goes now where. I have windows 7 and did what this forum said. PDANet said there is something about my connection manager but I can't find what they are talking about. Any ideas.
