Screen Protector?

Phantom Skinz is a better value, and no orange peel unlike Zagg. Zagg is exactly like BSE, which I do like, but both have orange peel.

BEWARE OF CLEARFREAK!!!!
it was almost perfect on the length, BUT it is 2.5mm short on the width! And it's THICK so it's stands out and looks HORRIBLE! and the corners weren't even close to being cut to the correct curvature!!! WHAT A JOKE!!!

AND beware the "installation solution sprayer"! The thing IS NOT as pictured, and DOES NOT even contain enough solution (water) for application of the skin! and it DOES NOT open to fill with more! It's a 1-time use container with a couple mls of water!

Wow, this is a horrible product. I am completely DISSATISFIED with this product and WILL be demanding a refund.

Agreed.

Has anyone received the ones from ebay? The phone covers? You get three for $10. How do those look?

Dude!! I bought 3 of these and they all fit PERFECTLY!!! The Hard Card Squeegee I got was the best I've had yet for any protector installation. It's the best value on the internet if you ask me.

Some people rip these companies like Zagg and Clearfreak but its usually because they can't put the damn things on. Both companies are good but for the money, Clearfreak.com has the best deals.
Says the guy on his first post, who has installed 3 clearfeaks as well as all of the competition!? You're supposed to be an unaffiliated random person? lol. Sorry bud, the thing is in perfect condition and ready to send back whenever your company responds to my e-mail. GIVE ME MY REFUND!

Well, i ordered mine off of eBay from clearfreak for $3.99 delivered and it came in an envelope. No container with water. Mine fit perfect and looks good after one week. you can look at my purchase *NEW* 3M CLEAR SCREEN PROTECTOR MADE FOR SAMSUNG MOMENT - eBay (item 290367055516 end time Dec-05-09 09:03:45 PST)
Oh and if you think I work for them because I'm new here(it is a new forum)go here http://sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=198940 and look at how long I've been there and with Sprint and research the type of advice I give and what eople think of me--just in case someone thinks this is one big conspiracy/marrketing troll post...

I like mine. I like the idea that I can remove and replace it. I really like the $3.99
delivered price...

FWIW

I like the lifetime warranty on zagg and I haven't had a problem with the orange peel on mine. Guess its all in who puts it on. I pay for best buy to do it so i dont have to worry about it. But to each his own.

then you got a bad cut...which can happen. My clearfreak is so closely cut that you have to get it perfect to make it fit properly. The back piece does have a fit issue. But it is so minor.

I've even taken my CF protector off and reinstalled. Most of the orange peel went away when I removed it. I don't recommend this but I had to do it due to my poor 1st attempt at installing it. The second attempt is mucho better. That's my fault, not theirs.

I am going to buy a phantom skin for a back up. You get two! However, I think the CF protector is thicker....and that is better in a drop. The phantom skin is prolly ok for scratches. A little more security from the CF.

Honestly, I doubt a skin is going to make a difference in a drop. A silicone case would make a difference. A few tenth of a milimeter of a skin? Not so much.

I agree, I'm just worried about maintaining the quality of my screen from scratches. And maybe something that would reduce glare.:)

On a side note, ClearFreak has offered me a refund on the basis that I botched the application. No I am not sending it back on those grounds.

...removed.

Can we keep this civilized, please. What you are doing can lead to a more heated conversation. Stop it now, or at the very least take it to PMs.

Also, it seems you made this account just to comment on a bad review of a (your?) product. If this is the case, possibly being nicer and customer friendly (if this is indeed your product) would go much furthur.

Don't sweat it. If anything else comes in the PMs, I will repost them here for public viewing.

I don't expect that I will be returning the skin now anyways. I feel that significant damage has been done to their Moment market share from his handling of the situation, and I will be retaining it as evidence in case of any future legal actions (libel accusations) taken against me. According to the news, it seems to be a new fad on the internet;)

Though I will happily post pics in all of the various Moment (and others) forums of the grotesque product quality and quotes from the handling of customer dissatisfaction (emails only, as he is not confirmed as an employee of ClearFreak).

Actually, here's a good one, just for the folks that attend this forum:
ClearFreakSkin1.jpg

Again, I know this is rough, it's just to show the extent of the mis-cut. Can you believe this was blamed on faulty application?

Looks like you didn't line it up right to me!! I'd sue your a$$ too since you are out loud proclaiming to be willfully trying to damage their marketshare

From what I can see it looks to be aligned perfectly on one side, and not aligned on the other. This leads me to believe that this is miscut by the manufacturer.

If I may ask a question, ntkum. Why is that you are attacking Criticalcritic so angrily and defending Clearfreak so strongly, if you have no alterior motive, such as you being employed by or having some link to said company?

BTW, I would suggest you stop with this behavior, as it stand now you only seem to be trying to start a fight (trolling) and trying to lead this thread off topic (trolling).

Trolling will get you banned.

So tell me again Adrift. How well does your phantom skin fit?

I'm only looking for coverage on the screen. Though if there's a great deal on full coverage, I might take it. BTW, I know this is a stupid question but... with the back application, does it still allow for easy removal of the battery door? How does it work with those grooves around the speaker and the 'Samsung' logo on the back?

This thread has been reported.

- The ntkum account has been banned for using a proxy account to fight this battle, which is against the rules. It was not because they were any more wrong in what they was saying or went about it in any worse a way.

- I see both sides. I see why both are upset with each other. I don't particularly blame one over the other. Happens.

- We encourage people to take fights to PMs if they really must have them. If that happens, DO NOT repost them on threads.

- This fight, as far as this thread is concerned, ends now. I'm removing the posts that are polluting the thread, leaving the ones that have a bit to offer. Everything I remove is recoverable, so if you feel some of it was valid enough to stay PM me and we'll talk about it.

- Agree to disagree. Happens all the time. Take it to PMs if you must. Do not use proxy accounts. They often times will get both your accounts banned. Proxy-to-fight is not allowed.

Keep all further replies on topic and constructive. Thanks for understanding everyone.

I do not use any skins or protectors. I was only commenting on the picture you posted, and am in agreement, that it appears the manufacturer has cut the protector wrong.

Oops sorry. It was AndroidSPCS that had commented about it earlier.
Hey AndroidSPCS! Could you please enlighten me about my earlier question?

The Phantom Skinz fit just about perfectly as any skin I have applied.

I'm very very impressed with it.

In fact, I'm going to order a second set, before Dec 1, to have another spare set around.

I love BES, but I'm now sold on Phantom Skinz over BES. :)

@AndroidSPCS
How well does the Phantom work against glare? I bought a car mount to hang my phone like a GPS if I need to. And whichever skin I get, I would prefer as anti-glare as possible. (I would ask the same question about the mirror skin... but I think it's pretty much given that it's supposed to glare :P)
The Phantom Skinz is almost as if there is no skin there. That said, glass/plastic screens will produce glare, so Phantom Skinz does nothing to alleviate the glare.

I've not found any products that reduce glare without interfering with the visual clarity of the screen, so the best you can hope for is that it doesn't increase glare.

The most important thing to me is that the screen does not become unusable due to grease / oil build up, and the Phantom Skinz takes care of that very nicely.

If glare bothers you, make sure you wear polarized sunglasses, which reduce glare. A skin is not going to be the best solution to fight glare, at least not without reducing visibility on the screen, which I find unacceptable.

I just put on my clearfreak and got exactly what I thought I would: bubbles on the screen. Followed all the instructions carefully. Someone on here said they should disappear in 24-36 hours. I'll be curious to see if that happens.

In the meantime, I'll be ordering some Phantom Skinz for my Moment.

BoxWave Accessories - iPhone, Blackberry, Treo, HTC Cases, Batteries, Chargers & More

They offer the best, and was rated the best in the past. Protectors are stiff, reuseble, and do not leave a residue. They come in two flavors, Anti-glare, and Crystal clear.

Unfortuneately they have not made one for the moment yet, because it's too new.
If your interested, send them your request, and screen measurements since there maybe a screen out there that is very close. I'm using one that was made for a Palm TX I had laying around.

Boxwave Antiglare are definitely the best...using a spare from my wife's Hero. The fit isn't too bad. By the way, those Clearfreak protectors blow...that's why they're so cheap.

I had never applied one of these protectors before, and mine went on with some bubbles, but a little teasing with the squeegee pushed them all out. The only reason I had to ask for another one was because it was mis-cut. (speaking of that, my replacement Clearfreak skin should be here any day now.)

But in my experience so far, even though it is not perfectly cut it is a great protector. I don't understand Critical's assertion that it sticks up too far; when I run my finger across the edge it feels flush with the case. The texture is a little weird but once the screen is on I don't notice any distortion. As I said before, there are no bubbles. And as for the capacitance problem, yes it does diminish the sensitivity a bit, but never enough to frustrate me. Also the proximity sensor is made a little -more- sensitive due to the protector covering it, but I haven't had any undesirable function from it.

If the replacement protector is cut properly, I would change my review to 100% recommend... although I will admit this is the only screen protector I have tried. If Phantom skinz wanted to send me one to compare/contrast against the clearfreak, I'd write up a fair comparison :D
