Root [Script]QUICK DM MODE [$hevron]

Android Expert
Changes to DM so you can connect your phone through COM port. You can change your PRL while using $hevron w/o changing back to stock.

Run with script manager.

run as root or SU, depending on your version.


Attention: Some users cannot use it, cdma-workshop will not read from phone or send a password to unlock it, it will however connect and set a com port for your phone. it varies based on COM port, so try out a few.

What does all this mean? What does this do? Should I try to do this? Just trying to learn guys. Thanks for ur help

you need to be able to access the hidden menu in order to put your phone into download mode and change your boost prl to a sprint prl using cdma workshop...depending on what rom your running you may not be able to use the hidden menu to get the process started..usally stock based roms have the hidden menu..roms like cm7 and i guess sheveon rom do not...so to get your phone into dl mode youd have to flash back to stock..change prl.restore your backup of your current setup...with this script monster has made it possible to get into dl mode without the trouble of flashing back to stock just to change your prl

there is quite a few threads in the prevail all things root forum that will explain how to change your current boost prl to a sprint prl...different phone but the entire process should be the same as far as i know. if i am wrong someone will correct me

Did this work guys? Anyone figure out how to do this and keep it off? I wish I could just delete it. Why can't we do that?

Version 0.4 should have it disabled, did it re-enable for you?? Bevause it shouldnt have, and you can delete carrier iq its just that it will take time, because its buried deeply into the OS

Why don't we have a rom with it deleted chev?? Maybe an addition to .5 instead of disabling????? ;-)
 
What you have to understand blah is; carrier IQ is so deeply integrated into your phones os that removing it will cause your phone to brick unless the proper steps are taken. These steps are found by trial and error which can take a very long time.

Instead of asking devs why certain features aren't removed or added, the best advice I have is to wait patiently like a lot of others are or; get yourself a copy of Linux and get crackin' :D

I chose the latter of the two.

Sorry I wasn't trying to offend anyone. And I am very new to droid and rooting etc. But I learn quick with a lil help. But sorry if I upset anyone by asking for removal.

i need to get my phone into DM mode to connect to cdma, can someone please help with getting this script to work ?
