Help SD Card question

Lurker
Hi,

My SD card was stolen (dont know why) anyway im very upset as I had 1.5 yrs of my kids pics & videos on there and never backed them up...does that mean they are gone? Is there any way I can retrive the pics and videos w/ out the card?

Also, if the card was stolen as it must have been since there is NO way it can fall out...why would someone want it? It only stores pics and videos right? Or is there other info that can be stored on the card? HELP...I am so upset as this is a huge loss for me of my precious babies pics! thanks.

I think if your answer to Tube's question is no, then there is no way to retrieve them as they are stored on the sd card.
Other info on the card could be apps that have been moved there by you, or backups of some app data.
Some other info could be settings for apps that you saved, any downloads, ringtones, music etc.

Stupid how people steal the smallest things :( Or steal anything for that matter.
Sorry about your loss

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i moved you to the troubleshooting section.

this is why i always make sure to back my stuff up. i use dropbox for most of my stuff. i also backup my card periodically to my pc as well.

it seems like unfortunately there is not much you can do at this point.

I am sorry for your loss and hope that this kind of thing won't happen again however the best way to prevent is to use preventative measures. Start learning to back up everything and keep a copy on the computer and the cloud. Sounds like some kid may have taken it just because that would be a better explanation than an adult. either way they are a selfish jerk and you should sleep well knowing that people who do these types of things never have anything.

I can help you learn to back up what you need if you would like.

Did you let anyone borrow your phone? Most likely it was a "friend" or family member, or possibly a coworker. Ask around and since its the EVO they must have had to turn off the phone and remove the battery to take the SD card. But that just sucks man, that's why I trust no one and always have my belongings in my sight at all times.
