What recovery do you have? Partitioning the sd card is the same whether you use the directions in that thread or in the Rooting Gingerbread thread.

you can partition no matter what rom you use... you can partition, flash the rom, check your data... see if it improves space for you.. it doesn't hurt and you can always undo the partition if you want...

So after i put all my files on my computer after partioning how do i get my files back? Also what setting should I use 1024 or 2048 or what's the difference

it really depends on the size of your card and the size you want to have. basically we are talking about 1 to 2 gigs of space on your card. i have a 16g with 2gig in ext3 and i barely use 1gig with 160 apps.....so that is up to you how big you want it.

as far as the contents of your card goes. just hook it up either in recovery or when your phone is booted up and just copy and paste your files to your new card.

the 1024 or 2048 are the Megabytes to use

1024 MB = 1GB
2048 MB = 2GB and so on. Never partition until you have done a backup. And understand that Partitioning your Drive will erase all contents of the drive.

I have a 8gb sd card and 214 mb left on that and 114 mb left on internal storage

You have a total of 214mb left on your sd card??? Do you have nandroids using up space? If you do, I would do a little cleaning up first of the sd card but if you decide to partition, you can choose what you want back on the sd card

What about nandroid restorting and nandroid backups after partioning?

after you are partitioned and your apps are on your card then you need to backup sd ext when making a backup and also you need to wipe sd ext when flashing a rom.
Where do i put the roms I download under
just put them on the root of your sd card that part is not partitioned.

also you need to read the op for the roms when you flash one. some roms have support only for a2sd and some have it built in. read the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html. there is a section on partitioning that gives more info on it.
