Accessories Seidio 1600mAh extended life battery

Just got a Pebble at the start of last week and have been trying it out. So far, not as impressed as I thought I was going to be :-( I think the microusb connector I have is a little dodgy, as during the first couple of Desire charges the car dock mode initiated - didn't even know the Desire had a car dock mode (not in the instructions!) and in fact I think it may not actually be fully functional at the moment according to some threads elsewhere I read *shrug*

As for charges - pebble came charged, but only partly charged the desire before switching off; I'm assuming the pebble was completely discharged at this point according to the instructions. So charged up the pebble.

Got 1 full charge of Desire for 0% battery, took 4 hours, leds down to med, but flickering to full.
2nd charge of Desire from 14% to 82%, 2hours 20minutes, then pebble died (switched off, and seemingly empty, no leds lit).

I wasn't 'using' the Desire during these times, except to look at the battery status. However since I'm at home, my Desire is connected to my wifi. GPS is off, bluetooth is off. Email/twitter updates are set to 4hours or once a day, display is set to timeout after 2mins. Will need to figure out which other things are using battery as my 'cell standby' is using 26%, and phone idle is using 21%.

So far, I'd say I'm obviously a more heavy user than I thought *grin* And either need a higher capacity(?) battery charger thingy (cost!?) or a second pebble!

Though I'm wondering if I got a dodgy pebble and I should send this one back.

Has anyone found a dc-microusb cable to use intstead of the tips that comes with the Pebble?

The only trouble is that it nolonger fits my flip case, is it possible to buy case for the Desire with an extended battery?

How is this battery working out, good or bad??
 
Never have I ever. All this about a battery. There is so many ways to run the battery down, Temp, games, phone you name it. From what I ready above it seems to tell me to stick with the OEM.

I respect all the above trying to help but don't you think this has gone a little over the top. But on second thought it helped me to come to the concussion to stick with OEM.

Hi guys

I am in need of portable charger. With this thread unused for a while, just wondered what peoples thoughts were? I think from what I have read above, the pebble is the one. Unless anything new has come on the market?

I haven't seen any fresher info on portable charger than this thread (so if anyone does have newer info, I'd be interested as well).

I have the Pebble. I'm not getting as good usage out of it as the first fewer posters. But it has improved. I am now getting 2 charges of my Desire out of it, from desire battery at 18%. (Desire switched on, wifi/bluetooth/gps turned off, display off.) But my pebble has now only been 'discharged' 3 times now. Perhaps as it is used, its performance will improve.

Still, as the Desire battery isn't so great, the pebble is useful to have. Though I'll sit on the fence for now as far as recommendation is concerned.

Thanks for the advice. Looks like I have a bit more reading, hadn't noticed this thread is 8 pages long. I had started a thread but then found this. A guy recommended the just mobile, reads up well
 
Ok, im about to get the pebble. Just one thing bothers me though, the lead coming loose. I want the device for navigation mainly cycling and walking. Whilst walking, I would probably need to charge while on the move; i.e. pebble in pocket and desire in my hand so I can still use maps. cycling, will probably be charging in my rucksack unless both devices fit in 1 pocket?

Will the device be ok under these conditions?
 
SORRY, slightly pushing in here :o

Not impressed with my HD's battery life i'm afraid :(

Had it about 4 weeks now and it's lasting from 6am to about 7pm
and i'm only sending a few texts and maybe a couple of VERY short
calls (3-4 mins max !)

My N95 used to last 2-3 days with same use PLUS some camera use !

I know the HTC's seem to be poor on battery but . . . . . !!!

UNLIKE the Desire, it seems we can't buy the "Big Back Cover and Big
Battery" thing ??? - :(:(
[THAT would be ideal !]

You all seem to agree that the 1500/1600
pattern batteries are no better than standard ??

Is the only way to go one of the external "packs" ??
The "Pebble" one seems fairly well praised, but, even that has
some connecting/consistency doubts ???

ANY IDEAS ???

I bought the same 1230 mAh battery as the one shipped with my htc DHD as a spare. Been using the new one for a couple of weeks. Charged the original battery full and put it away. Two weeks later it's only gone down by 1%. Seems to hold charge pretty well when not used. Will do the same test on the spare as I'm curious to see whether it'll hold charge as well.w

sorry but ALL NEW batteries have to recalibrated, especially for the HTC desire and nexus One.

1) switch on your smartphone, load until the led is green
2) turn off, load until the led is green (in the off state)
3) switch on your phone, if the boot is complete turn of your phone
4) load you phone until the led is green (in the off state)
5) turn it on --> so you have the full capacity!!!

This is a HTC-manual, if the battery doesn't reach his full capacity

OTHERWISE the battery rembember the old state and doesn't load "Over" the 1400mAh

I dont think the tester do this!

even after calibration most of these aftermarket batts are rubbish (i say most, not all)

This one is still going strong for me. Going on close to 6 months now. the rubberized door has a few wear spots on the corners, but to be expected. It still clicks on tight with no gaps.
