Shipping date speculation

I think I have partially figured out what's going on with many of us still waiting. We didn't order a single device. We ordered either multiple N7's, as I did, or an N7 and a case.

From all I've been reading I think you're exactly right.

I think I have partially figured out what's going on with many of us still waiting. We didn't order a single device. We ordered either multiple N7's, as I did, or an N7 and a case. This actually makes sense as these would need a little more initial handling beyond 16 or 8. In my case it is a 18 & an 8. For someone else, it is an 8 & a case. Or a 16 & a case. Either way, if I'm Google and I have tens of thousands of devices to I'm taking the simple ones first to get the most out the door as fast as I can. Then circle back and get the oddball orders like mine.

I ordered a single 16 on July 4th, and don't have an email yet. You may be right, but they're not done with the simple ones quite yet.

Anyone know why even though I received my tracking number, it still says it isn't in the system when I'm seeing lots of people reporting that theirs is in the system and trackable?

Me too. I'm just assuming they are still being scanned into the system and haven't gotten to mine yet. It can take 24 hours before it shows in the UPS tracking. If that's the case maybe I'll see something by 2am tomorrow.

Here's one UPS statement...

"Unfortunately, we are unable to provide the tracking details for your package at this time. This information is provided to UPS electronically by some shippers, but has not yet been provided to us for this shipment.

Many shippers distribute tracking numbers to their customers prior to the electronic information being sent to UPS. Once the shipper sends UPS their daily electronic information, you will be able to track your package. Some shippers do this as late as the next business day. Please continue to track your package and if the tracking number still shows invalid after one business day, please contact the shipper to verify the item has shipped."

I'm pretty mad. Google sent mine 2-day shipping on a FRIDAY! I have to wait until Monday to get mine. My tracking number isn't even trackable yet because I received it last night at around midnight.

Not only was pre-ordering a waste of time, but the 2-day shipping just turned into 3-4 day shipping.

Maybe they only have our packages ready for shipment and didn't get them out yet. I hope UPS has the packages and it just takes time to see that. If we don't see a change by tomorrow then our shipments didn't go out.

I ordered 2 16gb versions on 6/30 and I got my tracking number.

The orders may not be triggered by when you ordered. they maybe triggered by our account numbers. if you have had a android for a long time your account number in their system would be smaller.

Got mine two days ago
I'm in the UK and it was ordered by a friend with a corporate account from ebuyer.
I must say that I was shocked as ebuyer say shipping on 19th but I'm not complaining as I over the moon with the device.
It's way better than my acer tablet.
I'm guessing as it was a corporate sake that's why I vote it early

So we're thinking that this is what happened.........

1. Google teams with Asus to develop tablet.
2. The Nexus 7 is born.
3. Google lists the tablet on their site.
4. Asus sells the tablet through their own channels without informing Google.

Does that sound right? If so, that is a huge gigantic CF on the part of both Asus and Google.

It almost seemed like ASUS handled the distribution, which is stupid. It seems like maybe google got their shipments the same time as everyone else but with the large amount of pre-orders processing them all in a few days just wasn't going to happen, seeing as the play store, nor google is setup for wide distribution of hardware.

Don't think so. Like I've said many times, Google, one of the world's most powerful corporations, isn't gonna let that happen unintentionally. I think they intended to ship theirs earlier, got hung up, and didn't bother to change the retail date

I love when people cannot read. Why bother giving out any information when no one listens? I might as well burn my JFK investigation and my evaluation on Tora Bora since no one will read those either.
