Shipping date speculation

Yeah I don't even get that

UPS will not start tracking a box UNTIL it gets to a UPS sub station and checked in (Scanned).

So you can get a tracking number from anyone at any time IE... Just printed, Still on the dock, in UPS truck that just left pickup location but has not made it back to base yet,.......

UPS basically wont take responsibly for that package UNIT it gets to their hub. And the software is designed not to give out tracking info until that happens and usually for a wait period (Like 24 hours or until it hits second hub...) AND the software usually doesn't post updated tracking for weekends.

So I received a number but no tracking info is active...does that mean it hasn't shipped or it has and just hasn't been processed yet?

At the risk of coming off as a petulant child, I sent a letter of complaint to Google Play Customer Service.

That's unacceptable.

I tried to cancel my order on July 6th. Yet, nothing was done. On July 10th, after not receiving a reply, I called Google Play customer Service. I was told that my pre-order could not be cancelled because it was already being processed and ready for shipping. It is now July 14th, and I have yet to receive any shipping information. That could only mean that my order was not ready at all.

I want my order cancelled immediately. This is not a new cancellation request, this goes back to my original request on July 6th, before my order was shipped. I do not want to deal with Google Play, or UPS. Since this was an error on your part, you should have to deal with UPS. I do not want to put a sign saying return to sender, and then wait for several weeks to get my money back. I do not want to contact UPS. Your incompetence means that my money, and order are left in limbo, while the Nexus 7 stocks the shelves of local retailers.

I'm fed up with Google Play. Cancel my order. Deal with UPS yourselves. I do not want to deal with Google Play or UPS

It should be noted that I ordered my device at 1 am on June 28th. I live London, Ontario, Canada.

I repeated myself several times in the letter. I think it makes me sound like I'm on the verge of tears. That's not quite the tone I was going for, but, oh well, why not?

PS: This complaint is a reply to an earlier email I got from Google Play regarding Cancellation. The email includes my order number etc.

Could mean either of those things. I am starting to think that google sent out tracking numbers and shipping info to try to calm people down, but really we all just started asking more questions. They sure weren't putting my device on a truck last night at 11:47 pm when I got the email. Which means its not getting to UPS until Monday, which means Wednesday delivery at the earliest, even though google claims it shipped on a Friday.

Or, is it possible that they did ship Friday and merely the emails were delayed?

Calm down. Put the tinfoil hat away. There is no conspiracy theory.

They send the shipping information WHEN THE SHIPMENT GETS PROCESSED FROM GOOGLE. Not when UPS gets it.

Please, if you ever work in an office building, wander into the shipping room and look at the shipping computer. It issues tracking numbers, right there, on the spot. It's like magic. I click the ship button, and before the label is even printed, I have a tracking number, and the recipient is notified of the tracking information.

Does that mean that UPS knows where my package is? No. Does that mean that the shipment is on a truck headed to your house? Nope. Does that mean that it's all a plot to shut you up? NO. It's the way the tracking system works. The tracking information is issued, and then at some point after that, the shipment is picked up by UPS and put onto a truck headed out to your house. It's not me conspiring to make you think the package is shipped when I'm secretly holding onto it, it's simply the process of shipping a package.

I wasn't creating some conspiracy theory, like others have stated I was re-stating the fact that tracking numbers can be created before boxes leave warehouses. Sometimes days in advance. Why create and send me a tracking number if the thing hasn't actually moved yet?

Normal business days for shipping are Monday-Friday. This is why it makes no sense for them to send out shipping confirmations when it is way past anyone's normal business hours.

Also like it was stated before, no need to get your panties in a bunch, this is a speculation thread, I am simply supplying my opinion on the matter. If you don't agree with it then fine, no need to get upity with me.

I'm not looking more at this forum until i get my Nexus 7. I ordered mine on July 4 and still have not heard anything. No e mail, no nothing. I'm guessing they will ship mine on Monday and i'll get it on Wednesday at the earliest.

You HAVE to have at least gotten a receipt through Google Wallet. If not your order didn't go thorough.

Something about the UNIT, it's all pretty simple if you read it properly..

"Great News! Your order on Google Play has shipped. Track the status of your package UPS#___________." The word unit isn't in the entire email at all. I may not understand UPS and shipping procedures so I may not understand all of what the email means or what the UPS site means, but I did read it properly. If you think it's simpler and there's something obvious that I'm missing, please clarify, but I did read it correctly.

I have the same issue. Many UPS shipments I have delt with start like this a day or so then magically update and the package is around the corner. :-D Hope this helps and keeps the good vibes up!

Hope definitely dims for Tuesday. The mail with the tracking number I got yesterday at 8:40pm explicitly says "Note that it may take 24 hours for your tracking number to return any information.".

It has now been 24 hours, and the only information it returns is that the number is not in the system :-).

I guess they mean 24 business hours (though they don't say that).
