Shipping date speculation

Heh heh heh! Growing up in the 80s, I've got a bit of an Oakley addiction. Wish I still had my Razor Blades and more so my original Subzeros. I think I've now curbed my addiction and I'm down to just 9 pairs of their sunglasses, two pairs of Dragons that use Oakley optics in them and since age has finally caught up with me, one pair of reading glasses frames. Each pair were worth every cent and if you take care of your stuff, will last a lifetime.

I'm used to buying $10 Wal-mart shades. Yeah, they break in 6 months and a scuffed up long before that, but you can replace a ton of them for the price of a pair of Oakleys. I just wanted to see what it was like to pay $150 for sunglasses. I can't say I particularly enjoyed the experience though.

damn, it looks like i made out better than some of you for taxes... my total was 270 for the 16gb

its been a long time since i have been this antsy for something to arrive. tired of refreshing threads and searching news articles for better information

I did thanks Unforgiven.

Having looked on the net it looks like the UK version is going to be released the 19th of July but its only going on one of the big UK retailers using this date so not sure how reliable this is.

That's the big question I guess. Every single article mentioning dates more precise than 'middle of July' is using the dates given by large retailers. I'd guess they are there more of a placeholder than an actuall indication of shipping date. We all know this really but it doesn't stop us hoping that we'll get the device this week. I'm literally going crazy, checking this thread, searching for news, checking my Google account etc. It's ridiculous. I sent an email to Google to ask what TNT would do if I wasn't in and forgot that the 'send a copy to my email address' box was checked. My heart leapt when I saw an email a little later in my inbox.
I really need to get a grip!
I think it must be the not knowing which does it, I've bought many devices on launch before and never been this bad but I've always known when they will arrive.

I ordered it on the first day, but I used my wife's card to ship it to my work address, and I panicked once I find that out. I asked my wife to call them to confirm the purchase. Two days wasted here.

What those $10 Wal-mart sunglasses don't do is take a rock off the tire of a semi while you're riding behind it on a motorcycle with no helmet. Not something I do anymore but it was a very good thing I had Oakleys on to take that hit. There is definitely a reason their sunglasses cost a fair amount. (And they aren't even the most expensive sunglasses out there! But they are one of the better optical designs.)

I can't read anything in this thread anymore. The blood pressure can't take it ;)

Nothing changed on mine so far, maybe tomorrow?

Ahhh, I guess that's how I was doing it. :o

Old age is a bitch. :D

I resemble that remark. :p

I usually take the ID for the video (in bold below)
www .youtube .com/watch?v=nGeKSiCQkPw
and put it in between youtube brackets.

It would look like this in code:
{youtube}nGeKSiCQkPw{/youtube}
except replace the {} with []

and like this in the post:

That's hilarous. My charge is still pending........sigh

That WA tax is a bitch.

Through B&H, there is no tax collected and free shipping. The date of shipping is unknown at this time though. It is showing August, but I spoke to them and that is the worst case scenario.

I absolutely love B&H - but the $25 Google Play credit (though it is less than what would be saved with free shipping and no taxes, it's easier to spend a prepaid credit than it is to spend cash that I "saved") made me want to get it directly from Google... and I have a feeling Google will ship them before B&H will have a chance to.

I don't get the logic.
Why buy crappy goods and suffer the entire time using them (however short the period) and end up replacing them frequently with something equally crappy... rinse and repeat? why not spend more from the start and have a more enjoyable experience throughout?

Unless you lose things easily, to which I would say, learn to be more responsible.
Even if I have to save longer to buy something which delays my purchase, it's more than worth it to me.

Simple math to me. Let's say the Oakley's cost $100 (just to use a round number) and the Walmart brand costs $10. Let's say the Wal-mart brand lasts only 6 months. I can replace it ten times for the cost of the Oakley's. So the Oakleys need to last me 5 years just to break even on the cost.

So now Office Depot says they'll have them in stock on the 12th...I highly doubt that Google would make the N7 available in stores before they gave it to their preorder customers...anyone else feel that way or is it just me prepping to get really angry? Lol
