Shipping date speculation

Hello everyone!

Just a question that I have. Staples is supposedly shipping the nexus 7 tablet soon. So what about us who preordered from google playstore? Are we getting it before? I read a thread today that some gamestops are waiting to receive or have received a shipment.

If we knew for sure, this thread wouldn't have 230 posts :) none of us really know, but a general consensus seems to be that we would imagine Google wants those who preordered from the Play Store to receive there's first. Whether or not that is true, and whether or not that will happen, none of us are sure. But most seem to believe ours should be arriving either in the next few days or early next week
 
For what it's worth I spoke with a rep at Google and he told me they were getting them ready to put on the UPS trucks. I'm hoping for the 12th or 13th but then again I still remember how long I waited for my GNex...

Also, based on what we know now, those seem like the most logical dates, assuming they ship the preorders and the retailer units at the same time, we should be getting ours the same time as retailers (which Staples and Office Max say is the 12th)
 
Yeah I am on Verizon so I was part of the "WHEN WILL IT GET A SOLID RELEASE DATE" crew. I remember finding out the night before that I was getting a new phone. Worst launch ever.
 
I was VZW too, but I just ordered on release day and had it withing 36 hours, so this is my first time waiting for a pre-order.:rolleyes:
 
I would hope that google ships to the retail stores the same day they start shipping to pre-orders.

However, many times in the past I have notice (like with new music CDs and games) its in the store the same day it begins shipping from pre-orders like from Amazon. In fact I have a friend who always pre-orders games and I always ask him why because I always go to best buy on my way home from work the day the game comes out to get a copy and my friend has to wait several days before it arrives in the mail.

I of course got carried away and pre-ordered the nexus 7 thinking it wouldn't be in retail stores any time soon. So much for that. That'll teach me to be head strong. Ultimately, I don't really care if it takes an extra 5 days for me to get a toy. I'll just stick my head in the sand for a few days and not read online news which will just make me more crazy. Like all toys, 5 hours later I'm bored and will move on to the next new toy.
 
Don't know. I don't see any update to my order. Maybe it will be shipped tomorrow maybe it will be shipped next week as far as I know I did not get any update on my order status. Yet.

I don't know why the sarcasm.

It was a pre-order with no definite ship date, so you had to know going into it that this would happen. If you knew that in advance and are still unable to comfortably keep $200 available on whatever account you've submitted to them, colchiro is probably not far off on that advice.

In any event, I'd be excited to get the N7 this week. I have my Touchpad, but I've decided that the 10" form factor is a bit too big. Now, it may be that 8-9" is the sweet spot, but I do like the idea of the extremely good portability of the N7. So come on, Google, let's see it!

They are easier to order than cancel. It's already been said that orders prior to the 1st may ship anyway.

If you REALLY want to cancel, I'd suggest picking up the phone.
