Should i buy the coby mid8024 for 199.00. it runs android 2.2. is it worth it or should i get an android 3 or 2.3 device? can i upgrade the os to an android 2.3 os?
Don't ever buy a phone based on the OS! IF you want to upgrade to a better or more up to date OS you can always just root your phone and upgrade to a better ROM. Choose your phone based on hardware.
Better touch screen (captive vs resistive) overclockable to 1.1ghz, dev support, so when honeycomb source drops it will get it (it already has a 3.0 sdk port)
I'm sure it could be rooted. And honeycomb may be able to run on it. But with cheap tablets, you NEED dev support. Most likely the maker of the tab will never update it. If you want to keep it cheap and have it work well, dev support is the only way. Viewsonic also makes a tablet that has good dev support. I've never used it but I have heard some good things.
