Boot into your recovery....... it should say somewhere what version your using of what recovery

If you were on clockwork I think the text in recovery is blue.

Yea i think u are right I havent updated to the new one so i didnt know that. Guess my text collor idea just went down the drain....LOL

Ok I'm in recovery, the text is lime green on a black background, when I look into my zip file the only clue I see is the clockwork mod, and on the main recovery screen, at the bottom, it says "Build : RA-supersonic-v2.3

The softkeys aren't doing anything like was described earlier in the thread.

There are different versions of the amon ra recovery. one is called the amon ra STYLE recovery. It is the one that the buttons work like that.

make sure you only have ONE PC36IMG file on your sd card. delete or rename anyother ones you might have

I've seen recovery SS posted in these forums, how could it not be possible?

It is possible but not within the phone. There is a visual version of ADB that will show you the screen on your pc and allow you to take a "ScreenShot" from there. I can find the link for it if you would like to take a look. Unless you are going to get into mods and theming though, you will likely not use ADB for much.

well, that is the new 3.11.

I haven't tried it myself, I am on 3.08.

Let me find a link to that one for you. Not sure what other problem you might be having with flashing a recovery.

Did you make sure to rename the file correctly? It will error or ignore it if it has an extra .zip on it.

I believe other than a couple minor tweaks, 3.11 compresses the backups where 3.08 did not. I was running 3.08 and just updated to 3.11 tonight. It appears the same but I have not explored it much as yet

Not sure. I have not made a backup with it as yet. I know that someone in the Amon RA 3.11 thread used it and said the backup took longer but was 200mb smaller

For me theres no reason to go with TWRP. Ra is doing exactly what I need it to do, and IMO TWRP doesnt have anything significantly better

I have been using Amon since I rooted 17 months ago. Never had a problem with it. I do like the use of the buttons on the screen rather than the rockers for select and the power button. That was the only reason I upgraded to 3.08 and now 3.11. I rarely backup my phone any more. I just keep a copy of MikG on my card in case I have issues so I can flash it over my current setup.....which is also MikG.
