I've been reading through and picking up some of the nicer applications like LP Plus and WidgetLock but I have one question - how do you get those custom icons in the notification area e.g. Wifi, battery, etc.?

In general you need to be rooted. Then you can use things like UOT Kitchen to customise the notification bar.

Note that you also need a ROM that supports it - don't just root the phone and then try this with the stock ROM (you'll end up in a boot loop). Always do a nandroid backup before flashing any mod, in case it doesn't work out.

Hey, I was wondering if these kind of UI were achievable on Samsung Galaxy S? Like wallpaper stretching on the other screens if it's too wide as well as widgets. And do you need LauncherPro for most of these homescreens for the Desire and Galaxy?

How did you get the different icons for the system info widget? I've just got the 5 items and standard icons.

Select a 1x1 widget and then touch the edge which takes you into the properties where you can set them how you like

I was using Mini Info for ages but this ones a lot nicer to look at and has a lot more icons.

Is there any way to get the mail icon in the dock to display how many e-mails I have that are unread when I use Hotmail as my mail rather than Gmail??
I get a notification in the bar at the top when a new e-mail arrives but I dont get the little red count on the dock icon!?!?

Yup. It's the LLP Calendar widget. It always defaults to agenda for some reason (at least on mine!).

Where are those icons from? I've seen square tile icons based on the LP icons that's similar, but not circular ones.

They look much better.

I also reccommend getting some docks and icons stored onto your SD too. You can google them.

I notice people in this thread saying that they use "Beautiful Widgets: Weather 4x1" - I've got beautiful widgets installed in my phone but don't have that listed under when I'm selecting widgets. Can anyone help?

I may be wrong here, but if its a free version, you might not get all widgets included. You may have to buy full version..
