...where are all these new features located. I use the center little button and all I have task manager /google/remove all and nothing else.

Pull down the Window Shade. Multi-Window is between Driving Mode and Sync.

Running Carbon ROM and new LD3 radios was a nightmare for my signal. Going back to the MB1 radios fixed it, so I would say it wasn't Verizions app...

Here is my initial prognosis, from the looks of it, it looks like the new VRBMB3 radios are the culprit, so what I did is install the old VRBMB1 radios with the new Verizon update, LTE is much faster with no drops, battery drain will have to wait till tomorrow for me to get a more accurate analysis. Those new radios have also been causing some problems with the ROM community, but it has been fixed, thanks to the developers who are on top of their ROMS, not like Verizon who are only on top of their huge bank accounts, LOL.

OK, from the looks of it, the issue lies with the new VRBMB3 radios in the latest Verizon update, what I did was install the last VRBMB1 radios with the latest update, my initial impressions are that LTE is smoother and faster, in regards to the battery drain issue, will have to get back with that tomorrow, with a more concrete analysis.

Seems too many hoops to bother with it. If the S4 32gb does not pan out in a few weeks, I may reconsider. That, or maybe a fix will be released.... Perhaps neither is likely to happen.

To fix the 3g/4g problem for to settings/more settings/mobile networks/network mode and select LTE/CDMA. The update set the network mode to global which is causing the 3G/4G issues. Also disabled the Caller Name ID app. Download and upload speeds have been cut in half like others on here and the battery drains quicker. Lets hope Verizon fixes these issues soon or i'll hold my breath till I join the BlueMan Group

Why don't you consider rooting your phone? If I could do it, you could. It was fun! You could then flash the old radio or flash the stock ROM?

Hmmm..., my non-update phone came with the Global network mode enabled and it works fine, though I did just change it the other day to LTE/CDMA. Same performance on Speed Test, anyway.

It's been a day and a half since disabling the caller ID app and I haven't dropped data one time and my battery life is also back to normal. I'm 100% sure it was the fix for my issues.

Ok, here it is, the new radios are the culprit, I am running the last radios with the new Verizon update, battery is now fantastic, and my LTE speeds are great, have not seen speed like this is in quite some time, look at my bars at the top, they are quite full,

Its not necessarily a problem for areas with signal over 3 bars. I actually got 58 mbps and 40 MBps on the highway under 4 full bars with speedtest.net app.

Its when i sit at my desk with a 2 bar or less signal. My data will now cut out completely or stay on 3g and my lte speeds are 1-2 mbps. This is less than before the update, signal reception is weaker and more unstable. That in turn kills a battery searching for a lte signal.

The only fix I've found for this (or at least until something changes with LTE) is to use the app Phone Info, going into Device Information and changing the drop down box from LTE/CDMA/EvDo to CDMA auto (PRL). Turns off 4G but that wasn't working for me AT ALL. 3G is slow, but it at least works until there is a new update or until someone finds a fix.

It's the new radios that are causing the issues.

How do you determine which radios are being used, and then install different ones, if desired?

I see no improvement changing from global. The same data dead spots that started after the update still exist. The odd thing is the 4g bars still show two in the dead spots, but the dBm is weaker. I know bars are not as significant as dBm, but they did correlate to some degree. Calls still work at least.

3G more common to stay locked in, regardless if good 4G. This happened before the update, but more common now and this is with the Trojan horse known as Call ID disabled.

This update is butt. Verizon hate me/us.

I have changed nothing since the update (non rooted) but I feel like things are getting a little better over the past few days.

Although I did lose GPS a few times taking a new route to work this morning.

I currently have 3 bars (-99 dBm) and here is my speed test.

You can only switch "flash different radios" if you are rooted, the new radios are VRBMB3, the previous Radios where VRBMB1, the new radios have been causing issues for many people, including the ROM "Developer" community, after a few trials, it was figures out in the Developer community that the new VRBMB3 radios where the culprit, many who have gone back to the older VRBMB1 radios have no more of the issues mentioned in many of the threads, from bad signal, to dropouts, to crazy battery drain.

I am running the new Verizon update with the older radios, and everything went back to normal. Time to root and set yourself free, it's not hard to do.

Sorry if this was already covered, but anyone else notice Talkback (little hand in notification window) activating every time you reboot? Talk about a PITA trying to navigate through menus with it turned on...

I tried to disable it from the Manage Apps screen as well as the Caller ID app, but it still show the hand at start up. Any fixes for this other than rooting?

EDIT: So it is disabled, but the stupid hand icon is still there and no way to get rid of it!

Can't you just turn it off in the settings-accessibility menu

Mine shows the hand symbol every time I reboot yet when I go to the Accessibility settings it's actually off. To get rid of it turn Talkback On and then Off, and it will go away.

I went into Verizon today and swapped SIM cards per the tech support's recommendation. Not sure if it helped yet. Only time will tell. Of course the salesman at Verizon said he's never heard of these problems before. I had to argue with him over the fact that there was indeed a new Caller ID app/feature which charges you $2.99/month if you don't opt out of it. I had to have him go into his account settings on their PC to show him it was there.
