Unless youve dropped a phone in water, something physical has changed etc.., if something suddenly goes wrong, its usually a safe bet that its software. Either an app youve installed or firmware youve installed :)

Acknowledged by checking for the update on my non-updated phone.

How did you here about it?

A Verizon tech and a Samsung tech message. Do not recall the link.

Don't know if this (from the other thread) is what you're looking for or not:

Didn't mean to get your hopes up but I saw this and was trying to verify what was being said. I just remembered reading it, and haven't quite had the time for it to soak in:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42225959
Android Forums: MD3 OTA officially pulled per Samsung Open Source Release Center

Now, granted it is probably hearsay but can't verify anything from those links.

It was message capture from a tech and a media site. Or, it was in a discussion from an article.

Do not remember, since seemed common sense they had to stop the bleeding. Even Verizon staff are having the issues.

Received my replacement phone yesterday and it went straight back in the box. These so called refurbished phones I have to wonder about. Sure my issue may be seen by by many as, "oh you're just being to picky", but for me it wasn't satisfactory so I called them and they are sending me another replacement phone. The issue was, the buttons on the bottom, menu and back illuminating buttons were not even close to the same illumination. This is enough for me to say no thanks, send me another. I mean the color and brightness were not even close.

I am still on the original VRLF2, I never accept updates from Verizon, ever. They usually "F" something up, take away something or block some feature. My phone works just as good as the day I unboxed it. Usually updates are alot of "fluff" added features that I can do without.

U been on G+ mate? I havent installed it since this new rom but i probs will tonite (just to flirt with livia lol) ;)

Lol even my wife thinks livia is hot :)
Cool ill be on hangout later cuz. We're gona get shouted at soon for goin off topic lol

Got my second replacement phone. This time around worked. If you don't want to wait that long and you don't want to mess with files or root then call and tell them you want a replacement phone. Shouldn't have any issues. I even got a new battery out of it.

I'm new to this forum and not a techy-type at all, but I'm learning. I have had MAJOR internet access problems since this last update. Argh!!! Driving me crazy. I'm told that they will be releasing (is that the correct term) another update in July that should fix this problem. MANY people are experiencing this issue with the update.

The last update I heard was first week of July - according to Verizon Tech Support. Previously the update was to show up on the month of July. IMO, they need to refund their customers for the month for the lousy update.

If your phone is still under warranty call them and have them send you a replacement phone. I didn't want to wait for another update and not comfortable with rooting yet. The new phone works great! I also agree that they should give customers some type of credit for the inconvenience. I'll dive into the rooting field after it's past warranty time.

Just got a 6MB update, though it looked maybe like a Samsung update then VZW. Was a white screen, should have taken a screenshot, but o well. Anyone know what it is?

dunno what it is, but I accepted it. it can't get any worse than the previous update I'm sure.

this is what shows up after the update:
