It's a throm Google ABCindicate.
:GASP:
it just is a bitch to theme but you can add all the regular tweaks and crap still...Thanks but I don't much care for abc
jesus, someone odin back to stock do the normal update method until youve hit 2.3.6. from there root by flashing cwm and using a superuser.zip flashable. once you have done that load up adb shell
adb shell dd if=/dev/block/stl12 of=/sdcard/factoryfs.rfs
if you wanna download terminal emulator from the market and use that:
dd if=/dev/block/stl12 of=/sdcard/factoryfs.rfs
from there pull it off your sdcard when its done and upload it. ill deodex it so you guys can start getting your themes, just so everyone knows tho.. you can make a rom taht is odex:GASP:

Well the Admire's in the same boat as the Attain then, **** lol
rfs, which is just fat32 with some journaling that samsung added to it, making it a samsung proprietary/only thing. For most intents and purposes you mention it works fine, but even Samsung is moving away from using and using emmc/ext4 more n more and has been on their highend devices.Honestly Why all the drama over file formats. this phone is dead , the resources it has were designed to do its required functions with no hardware modification needed to do its designed functions.
Short of just themeing any stock ROM package the way you want and creating backup of this phone it seems to have been optimized .
What significant improvements do you think were made on this device.
I personally don't get it. I am interested in your insights due to your known skills.
thanks

Personally I dont know many details on rfs other than I do not like it or that bml bs samsung does as its hard to work with and why not just use the proven linux standard.
And its hard for me to say anything on the improvements it may have had on this device, as I did very lil with it when my wife had one. Some great work was done to this lil pos device, ton of themed rom's, been better if they were done as themes so one could easily just flashed a theme and not a whole rom to get a new look, but oh well. lol
Far as theming, rfs/ext4 doesnt make a difference, that process is the same regardless of file system. And as Shabby stated, deodexing just makes theming easier, not impossible. Having the odex files actually makes booting faster.![]()
I never noticed a difference myself, but research says odex's makes it boot faster... but aosp doesnt use odex's by default, so that says something to me. lolMystery put me up on how much faster odexed files are actually makes the system faster. A deodexed/themed will actually make your phone faster. Not drastically but maybe a tad bit that you will may or never even notice.

I do know deodex'ing doesnt do a thing for space tho, as it just converts it to a classes.dex and adds it to the apk.
to make theming easier is about it really lolAfter noticing that it takes up a little more space i always wondered why people prefer it over odex aside from themeing.
