Siyah Gingerbread kernel (v2.x)

i`m experienced smoker ;) + flashed many times being stoned as hell and my phone still works :D so either its so good or im so lucky... ;)

I'm gonna side with the opinion that the SGS2 is hard to brick! I guess smoking is better for your SGS2 than drinking. You don't accidentally drop it while smoking and you can't spill your smoke onto your phone and break it :D

You`d be suprised mate :D i`ve spilled whole cup of coffe on my SGS2 on 3rd day of having it... (being stoned ofc) :o but its 7th month now and it`s still working so i guess its just a hell of a good phone :D

Oooo I was close this time. Only 13mins off this time! Looks like 2.6.11 is already cooking! Gonna have to wait until I've tried AndyROM.

HAWKER: As a side issue to all this, what do you do to get such little nighttime loss? Turn everything off?

No mate, far from it. Everything is on, ie. data, wifi, gps etc.
Wifi is on "sleep never when plugged in" so effectively its sleeping when the screen is off, but i never turn wifi off full stop.

As long as you can get pretty much a match between "screen on" and "awake", with only a few exceptions, and you get around 97% deep sleep at night, then 0.5% per hour is achievable.

Interesting, thanks mate. So you keep both wifi and data on as a matter of course? I tend to keep GPS on permanently, but flick between wifi and data depending on whether I'm at home or out and about...

Changelog for 2.6.11 is up!

  • replaced the recovery with Hyperdroid Redpill Kernel Recovery. (Thanks to Hyperdroid team and Redpill kernel developer(s))
  • set the default cpu governor back to ondemand. conservative governor settings are still the same. ondemand governor settings are tweaked a bit (50000-90-5)
  • changed some mali internals (set staycounts for steps to: 0-1-1 and down threshold for second step is set to 35). I did not use AndreiLux’s settings for not breaking the compatibility with voltage control app but I highly recommend you try it because it can save a lot of battery juice.
  • some patches from upstream

That was fast!

Everything seems to be running OK on 2.6.11.

Just not too sure about the new Hyperdroid Redpill Kernel Recovery menu.

Red on black! I'm sure there's lots of good reasons for it and I can only think of one reason against it... it's bloomin hard to see! :(

(Lets play a little game and see who is the first person not to read the changelog and complain about Hyperdroid Recovery)
