Tearfully I come before you, to announce that I have moved on to another pasture! I can only HOPE it is as
GREEN!
 as this one has been. All you guys (& gals?!) have been nothing shy of spectacular to interact with regarding our beloved OG EVO 4G devices! Really, THANKS to all of you - I don't want to start naming names bc I will forget some in the process! (Umm, let's see - I know where I heard that line before - the Academy Awards, The Country Music awards, The....ok, ok!). I really hope I run into you again but I will stop by now and then if for nothing else, LURK!

Oh yeah, if you haven't noticed, I am now the 'proud' owner of a GS3. I do hope it was the right move but I won't know until I jump in with both feet and get my root ON! I will be studying a bit more before I do but it shouldn't be too many days before it is.

Thanks again to all of you...and....umm....Godspeed! :p

Thanks Mikey, back-at-you man, it's been fun chattin' with you as well. I like your sense of humor! You are also a generous person with your time and desire to help ppl...keep up the great 'legacy' :)
 
well i am sad that you are parting ways with the og evo. it was sad for me when i said goodbye as well. but the good thing is you still are a member of the AF family. so this not a goodbye, but a congrats as you picked a very fine phone. i hope it will serve you well as your og evo did.
 
This damn forum is dying off!!!!! I don't want a new phone!!!!!! Well yeah I do, I just don't wanna spend the money. I love my evo, I never thought a device would give me so much knowlegde. This forum has kept me busy for days on end. So thanks everyone and I can't wait for that reloaded update to drop. It will probably be the bid farewell to this device.

I'm waiting for that update also or the PapaSmurf sm9 rom update to try that:D
Looks like I'll be in this forum for a while as I am not planning on updating soon anyway...(it's up to my boss as this is a work phone:p)

From now on though, AOSP roms will be the flavor of the month. Sense rom development is slowly dying so if you like AOSP roms then you're in luck;)
 
The OG EVO is def a great device.


My father still has his, and each time I touch it I have to completely re-learn how to do anything with it. :o

Scrolling through the app drawer or even going through the settings seems all backwards now. ICS/JB changed a LOT

Fortunately, aosp rom development will go on for a while and I'm sure whatever K or L os from google is, the Evo will still have developers. The backwardness of JB/ICS is somewhat annoying though, not sure why they did that:confused:

Well, I'll tell ya, as of now, if/when I do switch phones, I'll come back to this forum until its dead. It's the first smartphone I've ever rooted and actually tinkered with. Rooting has opened up a whole new world for me:D

its kind of like field of dreams:
if the devs build it, they will come.

and if the devs stand by the og evo as they are still doing for the hero, then this forum will never die.
