Root So Long To My EVO

My phone fell off of my desk while charging. It bent something inside the phone so it doesn't charge well at all without jimmy rigging it to stay in one place and even that is sketchy.

I took the phone apart and that was all in vain. What phone will I have next? Who knows but it was a good run.

Thanks to everyone here that helped me with the rooting and flashing stuff. I won't forget any of the stuff I learned.

Cant you just get a wall charger to externally charge the battery?

Would save you some $$$$

+1 on the battery charger idea, especially that one with the 2 batteries that was in here a while ago, that bad boy WORKS, and the batteries keep you up and running for a long time!

There's also the Touchstone Mod route to go.
I have no micro usb port at all in my phone and this is how I charge mine. The touchstone pucks cost about 5 bucks, 3 bucks for the cord. 5 bucks for a Palm Pre battery cover and a knowledge of soldering will have you back in the game in no time!!

PLUS! It's one more chance to mod your phone and who doesn't love that??

I think I spoke too soon in my anger but I might be able to get it fixed even if I don't have the TEP insurance (since I spoke to a Sprint representative). I'll keep you all updated.

That's a pretty cool mod.
Only issue I see is file transfer while in recovery, etc. Also the latest ota needs USB connection to root. Otherwise pretty cool to charge.

Yeah tell me about it. I'm stuck with stock until I can drum up the interest for a dev to wanna tackle either a wireless root or usb-free method. BUT! I don't have to carry my charger and both batteries around anymore. LOL!

All is NOT lost. It was the cord and not the port! *wipes forehead*
