So I have iho backside rom and want
to try miui ics. Do I just back up iho
flash it over iho following miui install
Instructions?
Also any way to get plants vs zombies 1.3?
I tried over 7 zips and apk and luckypatcher
nothing works I'm stuck with pvz 1.0

And what's the difference with miui cm7 and iho?

Put the ROM you want to try out on the uSD card. If you want to keep the ROM you have and all your apps exactly where you have them, then go into your recovery and select the Backup and Restore option and select "Backup". This will create a nandroid backup of your ROM. When it is done your ROM will be saved to the clockworkmod folder on the uSD card.

Hint: I usually run a batch backup of all newly installed apps with Titanium Backup before I do the nandroid. This makes sure all my current apps are backed up on the uSD card so you can do a batch install with the new ROM.

If for some reason you don't like the new ROM just go back into your recovery and wipe and format everything you were required to for the ROM install, then go back to the Backup and Restore option and select restore. You won't even be able to tell that you left that ROM.

I could be wrong, but I think gannon pulled the MIUI ICS alpha for now, could be the sense one though. Either way, they are too buggy for anything other than testing atm. ;)

I did forget to mention: You have to wipe and format everything required for a fresh install when your going from one ROM to another. Wipe:
cache partition, Dalvik cache (in the advanced section), some like to Wipe data/factory reset, some don't. Format:
Boot, System, Data, and cache (found in the mounts and storage section).

If just updating an installed ROM then just wipe Cache partition and Dalvik cache. Same is true for a theme, boot animation, kernel, or patch.

Ok.. thank you .. this will help alot. Iho actually has been
a pain to me lately it force closed everything and when
I reboot I get stuck on awd launcher. Any way to uninstall
that? I like iho because I can fully customize my screen.
but like I said it force closes everything. I can barely use FB
or yahoo. Would any one know if cm7 is less buggy?

Did you wipe/format your phone properly before flashing IHO? You should not be getting f/c. You could also try the "fix permissions" option in recovery.

fc issues are caused by residual data(need to make sure to wipe and format everything that's required), an app that's on the sd card that really needs to be on the system, an app that's permission is not compatible(run the fix permission option in the recovery), the launcher is not compatible, and sometimes installing a theme with the ROM(I usually wait till after a couple of reboots on a new ROM then go back to the recovery and wipe cache partition and Dalvik cache before installing the theme).

Thank you everyone for the replies. I tried fix permissions
I can't tell if it works yet and I did exactly what the
instructions said. :) so far its working great. No issues yet.
so anybody have any thing new or interesting app or rom I can
Try out?
since I rooted I love it and just want to do more.

The first thing that you will need is LBE Privacy Guard. Then AFV(android file verifier). Then Root Tool Box. Then System Tool Box Free. Then OS Monitor. Then E.S. File explorer. Apps2ROM, ADB Wireless, Android System Info, Phone Explorer. These should get you started.

Wow, I don't have any of those. ;)

I use ES File Explorer and (on other phones) Apps2ROM, but I don't use any of the others. Apps2ROM is useful on other, larger ROMs, it was a lifesaver for my wife's Wildfire S, and my daughter's M835, but BACKside is nice and slim and doesn't really need it IMO. I do however highly recommend Titanium Backup. I can not stress enough how useful this app can be!

Themes can't do that. Reboot into your recovery, under advanced options look for "fix permissions." Run that, see if it helps.

Then you have junk data somewhere on your phone. Backup what you can, reboot into recovery, go to mounts, and format everything but sdcard. When done, go back and format everything once more (except your sd card), then try flashing your Rom.

Titanium Backup will restore your apps in a batch operation, sms backup and restore will do the same for your text messages. Both are free in the market. Your contacts can be saved in your Google account or exported to a file on your sd card. With some practice, the entire process takes under ten minutes. This method is more labor intensive, but has three major benefits. First, your phone will run much more smoothly. Second, you now have backups of everything in case of an "Ah, poop!" Third, these files make it easier to migrate to a new phone, should the need arise.

Pull battery then hold power button down for 30 sec.
Re-install battery and power on.
