so...what are you gonna do?

The main reason I don't want to go prepaid is that according to all the major players own coverage maps metro's signal is the strongest at my house. At work they're all about the same, good, considering my place of business is about seven miles outside Lakeland Florida. I can do fine with the $40 per month plan so I don't have the incentive to change.

Metro IS pre paid?

Metro does have great coverage in FL but I would assume so would everyone else. IDK, I live in ATL. :D

All them swamps and stuff messing coverage up. lol. You dont live in the swamp do you? ;)

Go to OTHER prepaid.

No swamps where I live but my work is close to Green Swamp.

Shmansies pansies!
I'm getting my S3 and I'm sinking down with this ship, argh!

It makes sense to me for now, and i heard it might be that ALL US S3s are interchangeable on all the networks, with a service provider ota, and that Qualcomm says they all have the exact same radio combinations.. Yeah.... even I think that sounds fishy... However, i love metroPCS too much to jump ship right now (even if Roger Lindquist seems to have fallen out of love with us)

No, there are GSM only and CDMA only S3's.

lol That's what I figured. I didn't know if you were saying that Metro wasn't pre paid. lol

They should put towers in the swamp next to the cypress and gators. lol.

Good question.

I,m going to chill with the Motion I just got and see what happens.

Awaiting S3 Release but better to hold off on that in light of what's being said.

Would be bad if Metro Plans disappear just as they finally have 2 great phones- Motion and S3 and 4 G is very good in South Fl.

Metro's Plans are still best deal-hope METRO expands instead of disappears.....

I have to disagree at-least if your saying those are the only great phones metro has what about the esteem and connect i personally have the connect and i love this phone never had any problems with it had it for a few months now rooted and overclocked with the plague rom. but even befor the custom rom it was great. At least to me it is.

Hi. :)

So, here's the thing.

I just cleaned something like 11 posts out of this thread on account of being too silly to moderate otherwise and responses to too silly.

I could quote the part of the rules that say -

Please don't make pointless rude/nonconstructive replies.
But I won't do that.

I'm not even going to mention that the rules say that there's an infraction system in place or that moderators work things at their own discretion.

I'm simply going to suggest that the non-constructive posts I've deleted did not make my dog happy one little bit.

It's not good when my dog is unhappy. He gets downright churlish. Then, I have to feed him bacon cheeseburgers until he's calmed down.

If you're not lining up with bacon cheeseburgers for my dog, then I'd just really advise to not upset him any further - please be polite, please post constructively here.

Cheers, thanks. ;)

What I'm gonna do is get a 4G LTE Android phone on MetroPCS. 4G LTE will still work because the GSM and CDMA phones both use the same radio frequency.

Well not a bad choice I'll be ok for two years with my cdma s3 unless metro surprises us with a gsm/lte model :D

It would appear that this is a wrong assumption sammyz.
The SGS3 literally just blew my expectations (or should I say reservations) out of the water. It seems Samsung wasn't kidding when they said all the phones have the same hardware...

Pesonally - I have bought a Galaxy S3 and switched to Ting. That was independent of the merger though (ironically happened the same day though). After measuring mine and my wife's usage I figured out we could cut our phone bill in half under Ting's pricing model (for all intents and purposes you pay for what you use with no tricks). Since I was probably going to by the S3 when it came out on Metro (I was getting tired of my Indugle's quirks) it just made sense for us. Best part is we may be able to reduce it more if I can convince my wife (and come with the money) to buy devices on FreedomPOP.

That said if I hadn't been switching to Ting I would still buy the GS3 on MetroPCS. At this point nothing is going to change for Metro for at least a year. When it does start to change the GS3 is still going to be a usuable phone on the merging network. By the time it is all said and done I'll be looking for a new phone anyway. Even if I can't resell the GS3, I'm sure I'll find some use for it on my home network even after I retire it as a phone. The only thing that might give me is concern how they might change the plan pricing structure. I am hopeful though that T-mo will follow MetroPCS lead in this and keep the pricing the same or even make it better. Even with that risk that pricing would force me elsewhere I'd still buy the GS3, it is just too nice not too.
