So... What do you think of the new XENFORO FORUMS??

I read the rather long post about the reasons behind the change but nothing about the crappy pink, white and purple iOS 7 looking theme and having to relearn everything which I despise.

The theme is white, blue and green.

There is no purple or pink used anywhere.

If you're seeing pink and purple in the following screen shots, then your monitor is seriously hosed.

If the pictures look right but your browser doesn't, then it's your browser - try clearing cache or something, I don't know.

As for adding and changing the layout and giving you more options, I absolutely covered that in my long post. :)

The buttons for reply, report and the like look like colors in iOS 7. Overall the site must have been inspired by Jony Ive himself.

I also don't use Tapatalk. Try looking at it on Google Chrome.
That was not Tapatalk. That was the Dolphin browser.

Here is a screen shot from Google Chrome.

The colors are white, blue and green - exactly as they were before this.

And these are the same colors you'll see on a WORKING desktop with Chrome.

It's the Phandroid color scheme, same as it's been for years.

If the buttons in this picture are not the same pleasing blue that you've always enjoyed then something is either wrong with your monitor or your browser.

No pink was used in the making of this message. :)

Yep no pruple or pink anywhere, maybe the poster is colour blind or something.

Nick, did you ever read this post from Earlymon explaining the changes?
Some Xenforo information - what really happened:<br /><br />The original site was designed when there were a handful of Android phones. If you Google for the Internet Wayback Machine you can see our site in 2010 just before the Android explosion - the front page was clean. <br /><br />We were and are the first forum devoted explicitly to Android, Phandroid was the first Android centric news site. <br /><br />Back in 2008 when we needed more features and vBulletin didn't have them, custom coding made a lot of sense so we went for it - lots of it over time. <br /><br />As we grew, the front page started looking like a car parts catalog. It was a mess so newcomers gave up and posted in any thread they felt like. Staff burnout was high and some staff simply decided that organization was too tiring and quit. <br /><br />To arrange new forums, I and a few others have had to set position index values by hand in order to maintain alphabetical order of phones and tablets. And the entire site needed reindexing - by hand. That would have taken a week with the available trained staff, provided we could quit our jobs and just do this. Impossible. <br /><br />Btw and fwiw - now you know why the old forum was alphabetized with more user friendly features than the other good sites using vBulletin - hard work. <br /><br />Over two years ago I began the initiative to update the forum layout. We spent months on layout taking input from hundreds of you. <br /><br />While deciding on a workable implementation plan, we discovered Xenforo. It has standard plug-ins for a great deal of what we were custom coding. <br /><br />We prototyped the new approach with our new gun forum. It worked really well and that's in Xenforo. We had months on the Xenforo learning curve. <br /><br />We prototyped the whole AF secretly in Xenforo and shook out all of the import bugs - no one ever anticipated that their import tool would have to handle over a million user accounts and nearly a million threads. That took time. <br /><br />The transition then stalled while the entire approach was evaluated again - just transition or transition while introducing some of the reorganization elements was the issue. The decision was somewhere in between. <br /><br />A cache error occurred on the first attempt. It took 15 hours to rebuild and along with some details I won't go into, led to bugs that many are seeing and thinking that we just didn't think or something. <br /><br />Those will be solved. Those of us responsible are working every spare moment around the clock. <br /><br />In addition to the above, I haven't even mentioned how we eradicated over 10,000 spambots in a single week and what that did to our blacklist data table. Nor have I time to explain a number of other joys we've spearheaded on your behalf, fighting our own custom software as well as an older version of the forum software along the way. <br /><br />For all of the above, a major change was necessary for our survival. <br /><br />I'm sure it's very frustrating. <br /><br />Please consider that we're not happy and eating popcorn laughing at you all - try living with the same bugs while trying to sort this out lol! <br /><br />The bugs have to go first and the full basic experience intended put to work for everyone. <br /><br />Then we can start looking at enhancements. And by looking I mean doing. I've requested that the dark theme and online indicators move to the top of the list. Sometimes they agree with me, sometimes they don't. If not, those are the first two things that I'll be fighting for, for you all. <br /><br />As for the mobile view dilemma, yes, we know how to improve that. After the bugs and other critical enhancements. <br /><br />And here's the part you're going to really hate - we are not going to have a full desktop view on mobile because - wait for it - <br /><br />Because of Google. <br /><br />Their master search policies and future plan is hundreds of pages long and is completely public. Look it up if you like but here's the truth - <br /><br />Sites that respond to the desktop / mobile user agent string rather than the auto-scaler we've gone to are going to be either pushed to the bottom of the search stack or delisted. <br /><br />When you operate with the scope we do, and the reach we have, paying operating expenses out of advertising that everyone hates and blocks, that Google ranking means whether or not you can keep the doors open. Like it or not, all sites are going to have to go this way. <br /><br />And we know that the mobile view can improve. It will. But we can't do it all overnight and it takes longer when your key staff, yours truly included, are volunteers with time limited by work, family and the rest of real life. <br /><br />Your patience in the transition is highly appreciated. :)<br/>

Google Chrome desktop - still white, blue and green.

Broken monitor wire would cause that color shift to pink and purple I guess.

Let's be honest. He isn't seeing pink or purple. He's getting carried away in exaggerations and hyperbole again.
Let's be nice - I'd be pretty pissed if we suddenly looked all iOS pink and purple too. (Which I don't even know if iOS looks like that but whatever.)

It could be a loose wire, something hosed in his browser cache - I don't know.

Surely, no one is small enough to take away what debug time we have and just make up colors - I don't believe that anyone would be that childish.

Something went wrong with his colors on his computer or phone - let's attack the issue and not the messenger. ;) :)

No, it is not that bad, and the things I personally would like are being worked on. The mobile version, once you get used to it is great. A really big improvement over the old mobile version, which I never used because of it's limitations, as functional as the desktop version and I'm learning both and growing to like both.

None of you notice the feminine pastel colors? Look at the report and reply buttons. The edit screen UI. I'm using a Nexus 10 and I am certain nothing is wrong with it. But obviously you hoped people would browse on a laptop over a tablet or smart phone.

Complaining won't help as they already said its their way or nothing. Bad policy. The site no longer operates like a forum. It operates like Facebook including the notification system. Its so different it makes me sick using it.

Could you post a screen shot, please? We're not pranking, no one else is setting the pink offer purple.
Those buttons are supposed to be blue on your devices as well. Until now you're the only one feebbacking about pastel colors.
Have you tried any other device than your tablet? AF is about Android so it would be silly if or site isn't accessible on android devices.

I can see them now. Looks like a shade of blue to me. If that's "feminine" or not, I would say that's a matter of personal opinion and rather subjective. :D BTW I'm using an Apple Macbook.

AF now operates more like a couple of other forums I'm a regular on, namely Oppo Forums and Style Forum. So it's an improvement in my book.

The buttons were blue before. They're blue now. Not sure where you're getting the feminine pastel colors from.

Makes you sick? Drama queen of the month award.

Please, i would like to take every feedback seriously. There is something wrong, and we need to determine what.

Doesn't matter no matter what the site is now broken and confusing. If you intended to turn this site into a Facebook knockoff you certainly succeeded
