Soft vs Physical buttons

I am evaluating both the Atrix and the X2. I was not comfortable with the Atrix's soft buttons and though the X2's physical buttons would be better.

To my surprise, when actually using the X2 in real life, I found myself missing the larger capacitive buttons on the Atrix and found it frustrating using the smaller physical buttons.

I love my droid X, but this is the last phone with hard buttons. They annoy me. I can't even talk about it because I might say something about it that may get me perma-banned.

Seriously, in the future, I'm going back to capacative. I had it on the Dinc and miss it.

coming from a phone with soft buttons, it was kinda hard getting used to the hard ones, but I don't mind them now. I catch myself every so often brushing the buttons like I did on the soft ones and then remember to actually press it when nothing happens.. hehe

Funny - Having used both types, I really have no preference. Once I get used to one or the other that's just the way it is. Of course, arrange the widgets wrong on my home screen and I come unglued. Go figure.....

Coming from an OG Droid, I wasn't sure how I'd like the physical buttons, but I really like them. It's nice to know that I've hit the button and I don't accidentally tap them twice. Plus, I can hand my phone to people without them hitting the soft keys!

Now, if I could only get used to them being in a different order!

I didn't care for the physical buttons in the time I've spent with the DX. If I had the choice of two identical phones, but one had capacitive and one had physical buttons...I'd go capacitive.

But I don't think it would be a deal breaker if the phone I wanted had physical buttons.
