Software Update Coming to Fascinate, i500.DI01 (Not 2.2)

Yeah, just reject the update and it won't come back again. Many people had the same issue even after installing it, like myself. Also, it may have unrooted me, but it only took 3m to reroot. :)

Went well here: rooted.. heard about the update.. un-rooted.. received the update.. re-rooted.. got rid of the fecal matter in the app drawer (again).

Yeah, it finally stopped bugging me. It actually restarted my phone last night at about 3:00 a.m. Woke me up from a nice slumber. And the update failed anyways. What a bunch of crap .... I had to cancel it two more times after that during the morning, but it hasn't bothered me all afternoon.

Pesky bugger.

Updated last night, first try, no problem. However, when I opened up the Market, everything started to download and install itself all over again, it was crazy... had about 40-50 apps in my notification pull-down shade all trying to d/l at the same time.

Has this happened to anyone else? Was this 'supposed' to happen?

Nope. The only thing I can recall that I did right before it happened was downloading a widget icon/style from a battery app/widget called 'Battery Status Pro'... I just remember it happening a couple minutes or so after the update.

It just really threw me for a loop to see every single app I've d/l'ed just downloading and installing itself on the notification shade all at once.

Applied up DI01 and have two isues, one quite frustrating. Now when I make a call to say voicemail, while on the actual call the screen times out within a second. This makes it difficult to enter passwords and wait for prompts. I have to keep hitting the cheek sensor to wake the display.

I also have an issue with using applications in folders, the folder seems to stop responding after running an application in the folder.

I don't have this problem. Is it possible you're putting a finger near the proximity sensor?

Can't help you with this one. I'm using LauncherPro, and no folders currently.

No, not hitting the sensor. The screen just times out. My son has the same phone, I applied the update and he didn't, his phone works fine, just as mine did before the update. Luckily it does not impact the ability to use the phone, it is just frustrating if I am a little slow, I have to be pretty quick with the passwords and such as well as ending a call. I have had to cover/uncover the sensor three times in a row in order to end a call.

It did finally quit bugging me about the update, and the phone continues to work fantastically. I'll wait for Froyo before fretting about an update. :)
