Software update?

I am running Unitology 2.5 beta. I just got the push update but couldn't get it to work. It says.. ro.build.prop unverified device... Or something of that sort.
 
I think that's because Apollo changed the build number (name) and the update will only work with a recognized build

I still haven't gotten a text about an update:mad: but just randomly I called Boost yesterday and as with any other time I call them, they are all over the place for the most part...but the rep told me that their was not an update unless google...yes I typed google was sending one out and the phone would notify me....I asked him if he was sure "google" would be doing this because clearly thats stupid...I reiterated that I wasnt talking about specific apps or whatever and he said all he knew about was the network upgrade that boost is doing...so I said all that to say WTH...no message, no nothingm boost claims nothing is coming out, is there really an upgrade? or ar people being forced to 08c...if thats the case I already have it, I'm so curious why I havent gotten a text, I'm on the east coast in MD...this person that got the update, please post those screenshots

so yea "google" that guy was pretty stupid... anyways i got the text for the update and i am also in MD, also I am running B08 no root. So you might be right about that maybe there isn't any update at all and its only to force those in B08 to update to B08c, can anyone with B08c comfirm if they have gotten the text message for the update? thanks :)
 
im running the newest shinjitsu rom (newest as of last month, anyway). i got the update notice a couple days ago, and today was prompted to install it.

i tried to, but when all was said and done, it was setting on the ! screen with no progress bar. after setting there for about 5 minutes with no changes, i pulled the battery.

rebooted back to the shinjitsu rom, so idk...
 
I am not rooted and was running b08c....It prompted me with the update..I updated it and it sat there with the Droid guy next to a white box with an arrow pointed to Droid man...it updated and really booted.... No change that I have noticed......bummer total blue balls on my end.....skunked again

Thankd for the info, I am also not rooted, have you cheked into the about phone info to see what android version, kernal version and build number for a change? If it is switched to 2.3.6 which the prevail runs you wont notice a difference I don't think, I updated my moms prevail and she was on 2.3.6 but boost sent something to the prevails recently, I knew the boot screen animation changed on her phone and so I checked the forums and I think they changed the build number but everything else is the same on her phone...I guess if I get it I'll get it and if I don't I don't...I must say they are doing something with the network, my phone sucked at work...changed my PRL to sprints, but phone acted up terrible at home the other day, no 3G no 1X no nothing so I said what the held and updated my prl to the standard new one 61008, phone has been working better at work with signal......yea boost:congrats:

what day did you get the message of an upcoming update? i want to know when to expect the update. i was informed the 18th

Just checked in the ROOT forum and someone said they got it and updated it today but the about phone info they posted is the same as before and so is the build number...think it is pushing people that werent on B08c over to it
 
This is the only damn forum on the web to have discussions anywhere near as good as this!
So, if we DO go from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6, what will be the difference?
I'm in Philly. Haven't received a text from Boost, or Google, or my Aunt Mary, about an update. Unless it came while the phone was force-closing. It IS a Warp, after all...
 
Not all that big a difference... I think its just a few performance enhancements

Havent got the text in in northern michigan im rooted and on blo8c already any body who didnt get the text check the update under about phone any ways to see if there is any thing. Im not risking it thet

But there truly is no need to clarify,should have you continued to read the post,2min later when i corrected myself after figuring out just what App you where trying to suggest Apollo. And I thank you for explaining yourself better for those that where confused by your post also the link in reference may be found below for anyone interested.

would someone who got the update re-root using the ultimate root by snake and make a cwm backup and upload the nandroid please?

I ran the handset update tool today and compared the update to the ones back in march and it hasn't been updated yet.
 
you know whats funny i restored RC1 B08 backup and BOOM! system update avaialble (of course i cant and wont actually do it) but i think its funny it pops up out of no where when i went back to "stock" and i never recieved any mesage from boost mobile about it

I restored to stock B08c and never got an update message, my best guess is its forcing b08 users to B08c and if you do happen to get it on B08c i think it is aborting after checking the build #. That could explain the fast reboot
