Based on this:

I turned notifacations off by going to system/etc/system then renaming "otacerts.zip" to "otacerts.zip.bak"

if you rename the otacerts file, it shouldn't.

ok I deleted N860_b08c_to_b10gota but what other cache do I need to clear? and ty for the help

Sure no problem! Actually, if you just clear the cache partition entirely using your custom recovery that'll take care of all of them. Your next boot up will also be super-slow; this is normal.

Samsies. I tried manually deleting cache. Did it with recovery. Cleared and reformatted cache and cleared devlic cache. Just comes back. Also I do not have a folder system/etc/system but I do have system/etc/security that contains specified file. Changed that and added a bak extension. Nothing. Renamed the update file to bak as well and moved it to SD. Nottanearnottanothing. Stupid update in my notifications. I even went into sys/firmwarr and found the firmware update and changed it. Deleted it. Poop. Nothing.

After you delete the update and rename the zip run the update and it will fail and go away

Yeah I was going to say... I just ended up deleting all those files and running the update and everything was fine.

I deleted the b08 to b10 update but can't find the zip to change the name?

Reboot your phone and it should pop right away

You might be able to run applypatch from the terminal and patch things on the fly... I don't see why not. If the updater-script can do it, you should be able to, too. Also, this might help. I haven't played with it and it may be totally off, but it was just a curious find.

Very true and thanks mr. Bobo and went back to old system 0b10 slows down phone but did like fix for flash light apps mr. Bobo wish i had it for 0b08c
