Sony Playstation 1 (PSX) on Android working and coming soon!

OMG cant wait to play FF7 on my DINC. support for my PS3 controller would be awesome for long trips in the car.

people who are saying they do all the driving... do you have kids that you may want to let play games in the back seat so they dont distract you? hand them a ps3 controller and figure out a way to secure the phone to the back of the seat. (ive seen tons of different pouches you could put a window in)
or maybe just make the wife do some driving while you play games :)

Zod is apparently testing a new build tonight.
He says he fixed many speed problems. Also hes testing on a nexus one meaning any snap dragon users ( inc, evo, desire n1) will be fine.
Id expect the droid to perform better so no worries for you guys.

Let's talk money: I'd recommend charging $5 for this. That way it's affordable enough for people to support it without much pirating.

4 or 5 dollars is good.
Ill definitely be making a donation on top of that to Zod because he is very responsive and active.
Next we can expect an n64 emulator. Weew!

just WOW, this would be awesome. Personally i would be all about FF 7,8 and 9 plus RE 1 and 2!

A Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid and this guy will become minted! lol

Good lad Zod!!! Whats the latest?

The PSX emulator for iPhone only ran decently well on the 3Gs. Since the Droid has comparable hardware, it is likely to be the lowest end phone that will provide frame rates of more than 5 FPS, which is what the older iPhones would do with the same emulator. I'm hoping Zod takes advantage of the PowerVR chip in the Droid but also makes it versatile enough to run well on the Evo, Incredible, and N1.

oh man... ocarina of time, golder eye, and mario cart...? on my PHONE??? seriously i would pay at LEAST 10$ for this. So you have me as a guaranteed customer.

Emulation relies on pure CPU speed.
I'm not sure if its able to be developed with GPU support, but at the moment Zod hasn't implemented It.
This should mean it will run better on the nexus one, desire, evo and Inc.

on pc emulators can take advantage of GPU power. but i know it takes alot of programming to get it right. on the android phones though it might be easier because of the limited number of gpu devices that would need to be supported (in comparison to windows).
if the 3gs does have the same gpu as the DROID than im sure Zod will take advantage of it just as much as he did on the 3gs.
if he doesnt use the gpu on the 3gs then the DROID prolly wont need to either. (they have the same cpu power roughly right?)
