Root Speed Tweaks + More

after using the modded build prop the I received more network connection issues so I went back and the problem went away anyone else experience this?

I have not tried es explorer, but if it is like file expert, you have to choose "file" or "file system" then choose "internal memory" . Once in the internal memory you will be able to find the system folder. Double check that system folder is mounted as read/write when you are ready to copy the zip file there or edit the existing one.

I am not overly experienced and hope that this might help. Good luck.
I believe you click on the start in the left side? Our its a picture of an as card and look through those
And find system, then scroll all the way down and build will be there. Sorry for mistypes my phone won't let me edit text for some reason.

Loopy Smoothness Tweak
[SCRIPT / DISCUSSION] (Smoothness tweak) Android needs its priorities set straight? - xda-developers

download the zip file and install through CWM
i see a difference, and i am not responsible for what you do to your phone.

Are any of these incorporated into the ROM(s) available at this point?

Nice post aaronmy:cool:

yes, two ways. you can move it to the SD then put it on the CPU and open it with text editor. you could also use Droid explorer and edit it there with adb.

Except for one problem: I have used Root Browser, ES, AND Droid Explorer, and I get jack.:mad::mad: I can't write into the folder. My phone's rooted, got CWM and Admiral Beast on there... and now, I want to unlock a few apps I have, with some tricks a buddy showed me on his phone. The thing is, it should be the same, except that he has the ability to write to /system, but I don't.... Sucks.
HAAAAALP!!!!!!

Oh, and I DID try moving the file from the sdcard. Negative on that as well. I could swear that su meant superuser, and that su rights were god-like..... I want meh God Mode :P

Look up "root explorer" its a paid app I use works 100% of the time...
I'm sure you can Google it and find a.... discount... copy.

Hello,
I want to personally thank you for sharing this, I was curious on how you would unzip this through the Cwm? If you can tell me I would be forever greatful. Thanks

in cmw it should say install through zip, then u go to install zip from SD card (which is where u would place the zip) and click yes and it will install for ya

Admirel beast has alot of them, all the data and heapsize stagefright and all.
Witch ones exactly are on the list that are NOT on the Admiral Beast

kay got some questions but first some awnsers....
If u look in the settings of es file exploer you will see a home directory simply change that to /system/ assuming u r rooted, also make sure to check system is writeable and the rootexplorer boxes in settings...
now on to some questions .......
i normally get 10 kb/s download so I decided to try some tweaks. However idk if I did it right cause I took a copy of my original build.prop and try putting 2 codes into it saved in system and rebooted....no change.... downloaded the .zip and saved that as a build.prop in systems....still didnt notice a change....so am I doing something worng? any help would b helpful

Ok I've been rooting for awhile, but I've never messed with build.prop or even touched root explorer before. Including buying and installing rootexplorer this took ten minutes and some of that was just me hesitating to do it. lol
This is how to do it from your phone using aaronmy's zip and rootexplorer.

Locate the build.prop.zip link in this thread and click it.
It will download to your phone's SD card and put a notification in your status bar.
Drop the status bar and click the download notification and it will automatically make an unzipped copy.
Now open rootexplorer.
Click the box at the top that says "Mount r/w"
Scroll down to /system and click to open
There you will see the original build.prop. Long press and select copy.
Now back button to the first root explorer screen and find /mnt
Click it then go to /sdcard and then to /download
You will see a build.prop.zip and a build folder.
Ignore the zip and click the build folder
Paste the build.prop in here for your backup copy.
Now longpress the new build.prop and copy it. (Its the larger file of the two)
Navigate back to the first screen and then back into /system
Paste your new build.prop here
It will pop up a window saying it already exists, do you wish to overwrite? Click yes.
You are done! Reboot and enjoy.

First you'll need to make sure your system is set to read/write(r/w) then press and hold on the build.prop and select open with text editor. You'll be on the edit screen looking at the build.prop with the keyboard..

i swapped the build.props, and noticed that in settings/about phone/build number it says gingerbread.eh02 and not admiralbeast ... am i missing a part of the lesson here or what? does this change the admiralbeast, or should i just go back to the original?

I don't understand why I'm not seeing a big improvement in my speeds, I've downloaded and run this tweak along with Admiral Beast. I have Fresh Network installed also yet the speeds are worse than when it was stock, at least most of the results are lower. Every once in awhile I'll see the speed go up as expected but it isn't consistant at all.

Any ideas at all. Forgot to mention that I also used the QPST method to improve speed.

quick question after I replace the build.prop file should I change the permissions to match those of the original build.prop file or does it really matter?
