Root Sprint blocking "root required" apps?

Can you guys do me a favor and search for any root required app on the playstore/market? Just flashed a ROM last night and when I searched for Ti Backup, no dice. Same for Terminal Emulator.

thanks frisco.

So any advice? I just re-flashed the vanilla ROM, Market gives the little screen that says it's the play store, yada yada. Still no root apps. Perplexed.

That sounds like it could be a ROM issue. Are you running an AOSP ROM? Can you view any of the Sprint Apps in the Play Store? If not, it could mean the build.prop in your ROM is missing the Sprint-specific information.

I'm running a Sprint-based Sense ROM, and like I said, my Play Store shows root (and Sprint) apps.

running Mikgv3.11. no themes or tweaks applied. Sending the apps to the phone from a PC browser works, but still not on the app. Gonna search for an apk and reinstall play store....

oh and yeah, Sprint apps are there. I'm really starting to think this is them, it's behaving exactly like my friends AT&T phone.....

Weird. I'm using the same ROM. Very curious. If it was Sprint, it's odd that it would affect you and not me. Have you tried clearing data for the Play Store, or logging out of your Google account, and then back in?

Just noticed that an ext.tar extension got into my nandroid. I swear I a2sd removed and only backed up boot, system and data. Will reflash from beginning and update my post.....

Completely wiped everything in AmonRa 2.3, brand new flash of full version Mikgv3.11, let sit 10 min, re-boot, wipe dalvik & cache, re-boot and sign into Google. Searched for Titanium Backup, only the pro key shows. No results for Terminal Emulator, Open Garden either. However, superuser still shows. Weird.

This has to be Sprint. Sucks, they were the last hold-outs from that nonsense

What happens if you search the market (Play Store) for them? I just searched for Root Explorer in my Play Store an it came up no issues no problems I even downloaded a root app with no problems. So I doubt its a Sprint issue.

ext.tar is just the extended partition where your apps were/are. If you properly wiped the partition before you reflashed then it should be clean. If however all you did was back it up and did not wipe then that would probably be the real problem your having. Mikg has a2sd built in so if there are things already on the SDCARD ext partition then the data for those are still there.

i flashed mikg 3.11 and im having the same issue when searching for titanium backup its only coming up with the pro paid version.

i don't know if the problem started before or after the flash though.

i was able to goto "play" on the computer and find it and transfer it to my phone though.

Even though I have not had the problem I do use 2 backup apps 1 is ofcourse TB and the other is Astro. Astro just backs up the apk's. I find this to be very helpful when I need to restore an app that maybe I haven't used in a while or when I install a ROM that doesn't burn TB into it.Right now with Google just changing over from Market to Play Store there seem to be a few problems with getting Market to Upgrade and be usable. It is also handy for those times you may not be getting a good connection to the tower. Also an FYI for those who are unaware. You can create a Flashable zip for TB. I'll give the instructions as soon as My phone boots up from flashing a new ROM :D

EDIT: Open TB and tap menu button choose more then choose "Create update zip"

That's a really good idea!
Make a .zip of TB and flash right off the bat, after you flash the ROM of course ;), then you'll have it upon boot. No need to mess with the Play store.

Cool beans, thanks argedion! :)

I've had similar problems w/the play store. I don't see TB. Also, it shows the price of the root key and I bought that last year. Seems to be an issue still w/the Play store. I'm rooted running SOS X
