Good point, but how is releasing info on the bravo taboo then?
Not sure of the strategy for announcing the iphone. why not keep it quiet and have all the fanboys on forums getting bitchy at each other, only to find your dreams crushed by each and every false rumor. then release it after everyone gives up hope and buys something else.

i am interested to see if apple changes it software. I NEED customization... but i dont think it will offer that, because iPhone love having a smartphone you dont have to be too smart to use. so unless the iPhone 4g or watever is AMAZING, im staying with android...even if it is AMAZING im most likely to stay android since i hate having the same device as everyone else..which is why i have a sexy zune hd!

Just read through the past few pages I hadn't read yet on this thread (about 20-most current), and in regards to this post / link I don't think anyone mentioned the update they threw in at the bottom now. Here I copied it:

So apparently that was all bullshit. I actually was slightly happy when I first saw that. Provided some hope that the N1 would finally get some store support if you needed it for returns / problems. I know it would still only be Wal-Mart, which is not exactly known for great service or high standards, but hey at least you wouldn't only be able to buy it online.
In regards to the Bravo, whoever said it looks like shit and cheap compared to the earlier rendering.... ummm it looks exactly the same as the rendering aside from the optical trackpad obviously having like more of a button look to it. Other than that, it looks exactly the same, I'm not sure how it could look cheaper than in the rendering....?
It honestly looks fine to me, no better or worse than any other phone. I'm just hoping it's as thin as the N1 and that it gets as much RAM / ROM if not more.
The Supersonic looks nice to, hopefully at least one of these hits Verizon in a timely manner. I want something to give me a good reason to not buy the N1, because I still hate the online only buying option. I want the comfort of in store support if I need it, god forbid.

You mean like Google saying on January 6th that the Nexus One is coming to Verizon in the Spring? As Ruben said above, it's Apple saying the iphone is coming to Verizon (if they say that) just like it's Google saying the Nexus One is coming to Verizon. Verizon never says anything about upcoming releases, and generally the phone manufacturers running a third party OS, they follow suit with the carriers. That being said, HTC has a presser scheduled for Feb 16th at MWC. That might be the release you're looking for, just a shade under 3 weeks away.

Even if they do announce that I don't care, I don't want the iPhone or I would have moved to AT&T a long time ago. I believe they have the best touchscreen on the market, but I think the simplistic nature lacks too much customization and functionality that other players (namely Android) bring to the table...it's just not for me...
On a side note I hope VZW does not get the iPhone, I don't think I'll be able to stand that amount of popped collars in the store when I go to pick up my next device...ugh

I am more concerned about the iPhone and how much it will bog down the network if people flock to the Verizon version due to the better coverage compared to AT&T. I think everyone is familiar with all fo the problems AT&T are having because of the iPhone, I just hope it won't impact us in that way.

ATT, keep the iPhone so VZW can keep laughing at them. Give us a Bravo, Supersonic, etc.. Android device.

With most if not all of Verizon's network working at 3G and with LTE starting to come out very soon I don't think it will impact the network as much as it did with AT&T. That why you stand to pay a little more to Verizon, more robust network compared to the others. Also you're not going to see 50% of the Iphone users suddenly switch to Verizon.
Wow just saw the Ipad announcement. Just a big ipod touch with 3g. Also sets the bar for the next iphone. Even if the next iphone has a similar OS it will suck compared to android. Ipad has a 1ghz processor which means the next Iphone most likely won't be any faster. Also AT&T is doing the data so that is not a good sign for a verizon Iphone coming out anytime soon.

Okay so, the Apple Press Event is over, there was no mention of an iphone or even their ipad in association with Verizon. So this leaves me wondering why today was supposed to be a "Big Day" for Verizon (as BGR reported)... Anyone have any news from that Verizon "kick off event"/live web cast? All of the hype can't be for NOTHING.. since they supposedly talk about new devices, maybe there is a new revolutionary Android device coming that would make today a BIG day? There has to be something.
From looking at the iPad, I'm glad Verizon isn't getting it. For all the hype around this tablet, it has been a huge letdown. I don't like the look or the functionality of it. No multitasking on something like that? Unacceptable. I expected more from this, and now I know not to expect much from the 4G iPhone.
I agree with you 100%. Now I feel much more comfortable committing to an Android phone. The iphone 4G will most likely have a similar interface which is the old boring iphone interface. At least android is something new and interesting.
