Still no update 4.3

Lol! What does it mean?
Unfortunately I know nothing about rooting and don't even have a working computer to do it with if I was confident in my abilities to do so haha.

It was released yesterday for Sprint. If anyone wants to sideload here's the link from Google.

(Removed live link, DonB.)

WARNING- THIS IS FOR THE SPRINT GS3 ONLY! ALSO IF YOU ARE ROOTED DO NOT LOAD THIS. HAVE TO BE RUNNING STOCK TOUCHWIZ!

Can I just drop this on my SD card, boot into recovery mode, and update from the SD card? I seem to remember it being that simple, but would like to verify. Thanks.

Oops hit thanks by mistake lol. Yeah that looks like a flashable .zip file to flash in "custom" recovery (after a full nandroid backup)
Anyone who doesnt know what that means.. just dont lol. No offence

Yup-

-Download the zip to your computer.
-Plug in the phone to the computer and drop the zip onto your SD card.
-Unplug the phone from your computer.
-Power down the phone.
-Press power, volume up and the home button all at the same time.
-When the Samsung logo appears let go of all the buttons. Should be in stock recovery mode, if not try again.
-Scroll down with the volume rocker to apply update from external storage.
-Located the zip file with volume rocker and hit power to select.
-Let the update run
-You're done :-)

FYI- After the update is done you can delete the zip file from your SD card if you need the space. Won't affect the update to your phone.

Once you've applied the Sprint update there are 3 issues that I've encoutered that are annoying. This is how to correct these 3 issues:

1) Wifi is always on, can't turn off-

-Settings> Connections> More networks> Mobile Networks> Connection Optimizer> Uncheck box.

2) Notifications are giving weird messages like photos/jpegs are done uploading-

-App drawer (where all your apps are)> Download Icon> Internet Downloads> Clear All> Other Downloads> Clear all.

3) Flash goes off everytime you get an email/text-

-Settings> My Device> Accessibility> Flash Notification (have to scroll all the way to the bottom to find it)> Uncheck Box.

Hope this helps because they were driving me crazy!;)

As mentioned above, I took the live link out, if you want to post the source of the link that is fine and users can download from there at their own risk, rather then downloading a direct link from AF. ;)

I have a sprint galaxy s3. I am trying to apply this update via loading from external card with the boot menu. I am getting red text that says error status 7. Anyone know what this is?

Try powering down the device, and download the zip file again (delete the old one). Could be a bad download, and repeat the install steps again.

I figured it out. I was previously rooted. I used kies to restore to factory and then installed from sd card. Worked like a dream. 4.3 looks very very nice.
