Tried to install rooted Gingerbread straight over Apex 1.4 I wiped data and cache then installed zip. Now I can't get by the bootloader. Any help?

I did try to boot into recovery by holding Power and Home but no good.

does the bootloader have any errors listed on the screen?

did you try to hold both the vol up, camera button and the on button? It should come up with a blue lettered screen that may allow you to reboot. Although this did not work for me...crashed and burned. Got a replacement and I am waiting for the official release.

My issue was going back from GB to a saved rom. Got stuck in the middle of nowhere. GB was nice but for all pracitical purposes not worth the risk plus launcher pro was worthless on it and that is all I run. Stock will do for now. I am done playing around. Lesson learned. I have flashed over a thousand different times various roms, kernels, themes, backups, etc and this was the first time I was ever bricked.

There are lots of different variants that can cause a mix up or brick but I would agree here ....whether its user error or gb itself I see way too many horror stories with it already and will remain with 2.3.340 ...plus I don't like any of the install process ....not that its confusing but its rather "dirty"...d2 bootstrap etc ....im happy now and will be getting a new device very soon so im staying put as well

The following will be failsafe. Do a full .340 sbf. If you need instructions, there here: http://androidforums.com/droid-x-al...ide-root-unroot-backup-rom-sbf-overclock.html , section 4.

Use z4root to root it, re-download droid x bootstrapper and try it again, but do a full factory data reset from clockworkmod recovery befORE flashing GB, just to be safe. Before you flash, in ClockworkMod select /mount system, just to be safe. Then back out of that and flash zip from sd card.

Then when you boot up into gingerbread, I'd do aNOTher factory/data reset to make sure EVerything's clean.

After that, get at MyDroidWorld, there's an extra file to flash that will enable recovery mode in Gingerbread. I wasn't able to get into recovery until I flashed that. PLEASE KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!

I am sure this get you up and going if you follow the directions right. OK? Good Luck! Lemme know.
