Root Stuck at white Evo screen

I did a full wipe before I used Unrevoked 3, yes. I then did a nandroid backup and then got Titanium backup and ROM Manager. I used Rom Manager to find Myn's 2.2 RLS 5. I selected all of the Add Ons (including radios), except I chose only one of the three Kernel options (the Netarchy one). Then I got the three options regarding backup/dalvik cache, etc. I chose all of them before I let it do its thing. When it finished, I was put back into recovery where I just hit REBOOT SYSTEM NOW. That's when I got stuck on the white title screen - and yes it would sit on that screen all day if you let it.

Let me check my radios, but I do have S-OFF. When I look at the backup and restore screen, I do have three backups to choose from and one is from today.

Did you flash them from recovery or from Rom Manager? Also, did it reboot between the rom and the kernel flash or do them one right after the other?

I meant a full wipe just before flashing the rom.

I dont like rom manager and I will never suggest anyone use it its kind of buggy. We see this all the time and its just usually from using rom manager.

I havent used in it so long I didnt even know it had options for add ons, its generally poor practice to flash 3 things in one recovery session, if it doesnt boot we dont know what caused it.

You radios are up to date that is good. You dont need to flash radios again until HTC releases a new update for the evo, probably in late june it seems.

Did you try wiping cache and dalvik in recovery like i mentioned and then rebooting? No dice?

There are a few things you can do at this point. If you know where clockwork puts the roms it downloads you can flash it manually (which I will always suggest anyhow) see if the rom is in the clockwork folder on your sd card. If it is go to recovery and wipe everything, boot, system, data, cache (except your sd card of course) and then flash the rom by choosing flash zip from sd and navigating to the folder it is in and selecting it. Should boot now.

Or if you cant find it you can simply download myns 2.2 from xda or wherever it is (check the link in my sig for roms and kernels dl page), toggle usb/ms in recovery, save it on your sd card wherever you can remember, turn toggle off, wipe everything, flash myns 2.2 and reboot.

Or you can simply restore a back up you made and try again by downloading and doing it manually or if you want try rom manager but dont do any add ons do it one by one.

If you need assistance in flashing kernels or anything just ask.

I would flash rom, reboot, wipe cache and dalvik, flash kernel, reboot, wipe cache and dalvik, flash theme (if you want one), reboot. Its a pain but we will know what breaks it if anything does and its actually less likely to cause an issue.

as far as flashing the kernel is concerned you can also find all of them in the link in my sig. You would place it on the sd card, and flash it just like a rom except you dont have to wipe EVERYTHING before you flash it, just wipe cache and dalvik cache then flash.

Awesome responses guys - Thanks. I will decide here and let you know what happens. I'm actually at work and I'm trying to piece it together with the little time I have between work stuffs.

Ok, I have mikroyo running with no problems. I loaded up his gmail account, and all his contacts and data are still there. Thanks so much for all the help. I will go ahead and back up in recovery now.

Glad to here you got it working Cindy, I had to leave for work sorry just leaving you hanging. Matt had you covered though lol.

First thing i would try is wipe cache from recovery and wipe dalvik cache (dalvik wipe is under advanced in clockwork) and then reboot and see if that works.

OK - I wiped the cache partition in recovery and then wiped dalvik cache in the advanced section of Clockwork. The result says:

E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
Dalvik cache wiped

Is this ok or no? On a side note, when on HBOOT menu, it runs that little test and I notice that it says 'no image' or something similar for the three tests it runs.

And when I try to reboot, it's still stuck on white title screen. Should I do one of my restores before I continue?

Also - APOLOGIES to CINDY for hijacking her thread. I just didn't want to start another for what seemed to be the same issue.

Thats all fine and normal.

You can try one if the three options I outlined earlier after the wipe cache suggestion, yes doing a restore is one of them
