Root Stuck at White screen

Ok. So I have S-Off, but now when I load the phone, it just shows the white screen. I didn't put any ROMS on the phone. Everything was stock and stuff. I have CM on the SD card, but when I open Recovery (clockwork) it tells me that there isn't a update.zip on my SD card. So I think I erased my stock ROM and clockwork can't put a ROM on my phone. I'm hoping I just got the wrong CM file. Can someone give me or link me to a CM 6.X stable ROM.

Unless you named it update.zip it will not be named that. What version of Clockwork Mod do you have? Should be 2.6.0.1 if you just got rooted. Here is the link to CM 6.1.2: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-6.1.2-Supersonic-signed.zip

Just so you know, CM is an AOSP rom and does not have Sense included like the stock rom does. There are many Sense roms available that are full functioning if you prefer to stay with Sense.

Once downloaded and put on your sd card, you will need to go to recovery, install zip from sdcard, select the zip and confirm to flash. make sure to do a full wipe before flashing to avoid any issues.

sounds like you may have wiped some of the stuff that the OS needs to operate, so it might be too late to make a b/u point now, sooooooo.... make sure that CM is on the root of your sd card(not in a folder, just on the sd card) wipe the cache, dalvik cache etc etc, in recovery select install zip from sd, select the CM zip you have, confirm, and watch it do its thing. If youre looking for an aosp rom thats easy to use(cuz making cyanogenmod work perfectly takes some doing) id try miui, it has the android market already installed making it a tad easier to deal with if youre not too savvy on this stuff yet

Same problem. Clockwork Mod is telling me that there isn't a update.zip file on my SD card, although I put the ROM on the root of the SD card. I know it's not suppose to be called that, BTW. LoL!! (update.zip)

So now, I'm stuck with basically no ROM on my phone, and no way to flash a ROM. BTW, clockwork says 2.5.x.x.

Can I get the image file so I can flash the newer clockwork to see if it can find a ROM. Because I'm basically bricked, aren't I? LoL!! *sad face*

There should be a menu option for Select Zip to Install or something along those lines in Clockwork. Select that and see if it shows the file you downloaded in the list. If you downloaded it through the browser on the phone, it may be in a folder. I find it easier to dl'ed them on my pc and transfer them to the root of my sdcard.

Nope, not bricked. We can get you updated to CWM 2.6.0.1 after we get you a working phone again. Did you make a nandroid before you wiped the rom on your phone?

No, there isn't a Nandroid back up on the SD card. When I try to run (update.zip) it tells me it can't mount the SD card. And then it tells me that there isn't a update.zip file on the SD card. Also, its not showing up when I search for it. Should I try to use a different SD card? This is weird since it can run the PC36IMG files. Should I try to flash a newer clockwork recovery? (2.5.0.1) is my current one.

There should be a choice on the menu besides update.zip. That is going to search for a file by that name. I am not using Clockwork Mod so I am not exactly sure of the choices but there should be one for install zip or something like that other than the update.zip choice.

I would flash a newer recovery though, thats not the issue your just selecting the wrong thing most like;ly, install zip from sd card is probably the option you need then navigate to where the eff you put it and flash it. 2.5.0.X wont back up your wimax rsa keys, i would at least grab 2.6.0.1.

Unless that was a typo and your 5 was to be a 6...

There is an option to (install update.zip) and when I click that it says that there is no update.zip file.

There is an option to (search for update.zip) and when I click that, it gives me folders (music, pictures, videos, adobe,) and like 2 more document like folders. There is no file on there to update. (no update.zip) -(I'm calling it that, but I know its the CM update file)

Maybe I can flash a different recovery, because clockwork doesn't even work right on my phone. -_-

I would go here then: http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/259446-clockwork-amon-ra-pc36img-files.html and download the PC36IMG file for Amon RA 2.3. Take off everything in the name except PC36IMG and put it on the root of your sdcard. Reboot to hboot and it should find the file. Confirm to flash and when its done you should have Amon RA recovery instead of Clockwork

LOL you are hurting my head lol you did not create an update.zip, you did not name anything update.zip...look for a different option called flash or install zip from sd card...

EDit: What are all your options on the top level?

To everybody who's been helping. My problem was clockwork mod sux. LoL!! I installed another Recovery, and it's installing CM right now. Thank the heavens!! LoL!!

in clockwork recovery, select wipe, then wipe everything, then select "install zip from sd" or whatever it says in clockwork (i use amon ra, so i cant recall what it actually says) but install CM and go to town
