Root Stuck in stock bootloader.

Screen shows Bootloader 30.04 err.A5,69,35,00,27 I have been trying to SBF using RSD Lite 4.9, Linux, and also a Linux boot disc for SBF. The SBF file that I am using is VRZ_MB810_2.3.32_1FF_01.sbf. Each of these ways to SBF says that it completes without any problems but I am still stuck at the bootloader screen. I also tried using a few other SBFs that I found and doing battery pulls after each attempt. Am I doing something wrong or anyone have an idea whats going on?

Wrong SBF. You want the 2.3.34.
Thanks for the quick reply I have been at this all night and finally decided to ask for help. I just tried 2.3.34 and it still goes to the bootloader everytime. Is there something I need to do after I run the SBF? I assume I goto recovery which I am holding power and Home while inserting the battery.

If you are using the newest linux boot cd it should have worked fine for you.

bouchigo, I'm not sure if its the newest but the one I have been using is sliTaz with a date showing 5-31-11. Once it has loaded I did notice it says Unexpected Chip 2b and 32 for index 1 - 14 if that means anything to you

That is exactly what I have. I downloaded anyway in case I had a bad download but I am still cant get anywhere other than bootloader. The current version of bootloader is 30.04 but I think it was 30.03 before this problem started happening. Is there a way to reflash 30.03 could that be causing this problem?

Yeah, same thing....lol. It sounds like your SBF file isn't taking for some reason. When you started this fiasco what were you running? I'm assuming you were on android 2.2, went to android 2.3 and needed for whatever reason to SBF back to stock Froyo (2.2)?

Cougar, I was running Liberty 1.5 with Froyo. This all started when I had a computer issue, I had no cds or usb stick so I put a live linux on to the droid sd card. After i got the computer going again I formatted the sd card and then I started getting non stop force closes on the phone, so I tried to sbf and then all this started not being able to get past bootloader. I have tried sbfing with the card and without.

If you have no cd's or a flash drive then you have to go with the RSDlite method. Use RSDlite 4.8 with the latest SBF file. What version of windows are you using?

You are, in my opinion, having this problem because you had Liberty on your phone. And Lady Liberty doesn't like to let go.....lol. Once you SBF back to Froyo after using Liberty you MUST go into recovery and wipe data/factory reset or you will have boot up issues and/or force closes.

You get into recovery by holding home+power. When you see the little droid guy press the search button. If all your phone does is boot up into the boot loader than pull your battery, count to 10 and put your battery back in. It will not boot up on it's own. That's when you hold the home key and press the power button at the same time.

I have cds now, been trying to sbf with a linux boot loader but that doesnt help either. Still not able to boot into recovery. I dont see what I could be doing wrong, could this be bricked?

Have you tried clicking "show device" in rsd lite? It's a far fetch, but it sounds like you have tried everything else.

The phone shows but yes I have tried clicking show device. Being that the phone only shows the stock bootloader screen and the Motorola M image would Verizon be able to tell that this phone was rooted if I took it to them?

What do you mean by "stock bootloader screen"? There is only one bootloader screen. Are you sure you really are in bootloader mode when trying to sbf???

Maybe I made a mistake calling it stock. I thought I seen a reference somewhere else calling it stock. Yes I am positive it is in bootloader. It says bootloader 30.04 with err:A5,69,35,00,27. Below that it shows Battery ok, Ok to Program, and shows wether the data cable is plugged in or not.

Ok, just making sure.

It could be that your battery is low on power now. Do you have a way to charge your battery because the battery will not charge in bootloader mode. Basically you have to be booted up into the OS for the battery to charge.

i havent read all of his problems yet lol
but could it be he needs to download the sbf file again?
or maybe try an alternate method?
maybe rsd lite isnt taking to kindly to his phone
hate to say it maybe trying the linux cd could help. once my rsd lite bit the dust that was what i had to start using... still dunno why rsd lite bit the dust, its confusing.

Your last option might be to use a different computer. There might be something wrong with yours that's giving you the problem. Try using someone else's computer that has Windows XP on it.

bouchigo, the battery is full power. My girl has the same phone so I have been swapping the battery.
VoidedSaint, I have been trying three different methods. RSD Lite, the linux cd, and Ubuntu which I also have installed. I have downloaded the sbf from several different places.

I dont know if this will help but I got these from the log file of RDS Lite 4.8.

Did you compare the MD5 checksums just to make sure your downlods were't corrupt?
