Suitable Replacement for Incredible

I currently have the Droid Incredible and am looking to replace it sometime soon. I have really been addicted to the Thunderbolt, but haven't had enough money to buy it. In the waiting, the HTC Sensation came out and makes the Thunderbolt look like yesterday's phone, as everyone expected. HTC Sense on the Incredible is great, Sense 2.0 is better, but 3.0 looks to be truly Incredible. I wonder how long it will take for Verizon to get a version of this phone. Any thoughts?

Verizon's not getting the Sensation. That's going to T-mobile. I can clock my Thunderbolt up to 1.5 and it runs fine. I usually just run it at 1 ghz, though. Plenty fast enough for me. I love the TB and don't regret upgrading to it at all. The other phones coming out in the near future for VZW are the Samsung Stealth and Incredible 2. Further away are the Targa, Droid 3, Droid X2, etc.

I know that the sensation isn't coming to VZW, but there is always more than one phone that is built on the same platform, like the Evo and Incredible are from the Desire platform.

I don't want a phone that is already replaced. I also want LTE. Is there anything rumored to have sense 3.0 on VZW coming anytime soon?

Well you're out of luck. By the time any phone is released, it replacement is already in the pipeline. Hell, the replacement for that phone is already on the drawing board, prototype.

Haha, I know, Verizon takes too long to release stuff. I would consider switching to T-Mobile, but I want the speed of LTE. Maybe if AT&T switches to LTE after they buy T-Mobile.

T-mobile already has their "4G" network running; as does AT&T. You will be waiting a few years at the minimum before they even begin deploying LTE.

Its pushed back until the summer, but the Bionic seems to be a suitable replacement...if they can fix some of the issues they're having.

For my money, if I'm gonna lock in to a two year contract, I'm going dual core and LTE. Right now, the only confirmed phone in that pipeline is the Droid Bionic, which is getting enhancements over it's original specs and to be out some time this summer.

Also said to be coming out this summer is the Samsung Galaxy S II, which will have a dual core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and a Super AMOLED Plus screen. However, whether or not it will have LTE has not been confirmed. However (yet again! lol), it's dropping May 1st in the UK and in other world markets. Speculation is that it's delay here is so Verizon can implement it to LTE. We'll just have to wait and see.

yep...read the reviews of the sensation, very impressive, big upgrade from Thunderbolt already which is too bad as it will be awhile before VZ brings an update to TB from HTC.

I left T-mobile because of their lack of good phones , and got the Dinc, which I love...But now T-mobile has all the monster android phones and I'm bout to go back...Good thing my wife's is still on my T-mobile account.

I'm also thinking hard about jumping ship to Tmobile. They're the only carrier to actually have 4G in my area currently and with all the plan changes Verizon has forecasted, there's really no reason to stick with them anymore.

What's the cost of a decent DI these days? A friend of mine wants one for his gf and I don't want to part with mine even though I have a TB now. Please PM since I'm just not here that often any longer. Thanks all.

The Thunderbolt is the flagship HTC phone on Verizon right now, so I'd expect no sooner than August for HTC to replace it with a VZW-branded equivalent to the Sensation. Thanks to the US carriers and the way they control handsets, we get our phones later than the rest of the world (exception being T-Mobile, who tries to keep up). Generally expect Verizon/AT&T to get a platform variant 3-6 months after the unlocked/global release of a handset. In the case of the Incredible (Desire), we were 9-10 weeks behind the rest of the world. In the case of the Thunderbolt (Desire HD), it was closer to 6 months.

If you were on an annual contract, you can either get the best phone now or wait until a new release impresses you. If you're on a 2-year, there really isn't a reason to upgrade at full cost mid-cycle unless there's a phone that you just HAVE to have. Doesn't sound like a phone out there (on Verizon) meets this criteria for you yet.

I think you missed the point. This has nothing to do with Verizon. What euph said applies to all carriers.

I think I might look at the Lg Revolution to replace my Inc. I love sense but the Lg just looks good for some reason.
