Root Superuser question?!?!

hey everyone, been gone for awhile cuz i moved....took forever to get internet in BFE lol...but i finally got it and i went to update a bunch of my apps on my phone...now my Anti-virus is showing the SuperUser as a virus?? it NEVER did that before....any ideas??

I saw this happen to someone else a few weeks ago. Couple questions to help narrow it down.....

Are we talking about antivirus sofware on the phone itself or on the computer?

If its the phone antivirus that is being set off..what information is it giving you?

What antivirus do you have?



I think its most likely gonna be a false positive. The program realizes that superuser is able to control root access to the phone and doesnt like it. I will dig up the last thread and find out what antivirus that person was using.

Are you using the superuser from the market, if not where did you download it?

my Superuser is v2.3.6.3

Su binary v2.3.2-efgh

and im running the Team Nocturnal Stock Rom which is 4.53

im sure i missed a lot when i was gone lol...sucks!!

the thing is it has NEVER been detected before....and just like a couple days ago, its being detected by Zoner, AVG, and Lookout....i tried different ones just to see if it was the antivirus....

the file it detects is this: Exploit.Android.Ratc.A

RATC refers to rage against the cage, which is an exploit to give an app root access. Its supposed to be patched in gingerbread

first off WELCOME BACK

Is the anti-virus not letting you use the su? there should be an exception somewhere to exclude looking at that file. Not really a fix but would keep it from bugging you
