ok. problems. titanium backup says i don't have root access...gives me an error saying app wont work. root checker also says this. system slowing rapidly...link2sd and titanium no longer see the 2nd partion

It was more likely the reboot. I just listed my actions. I didn't mean to impy that I figured something out. AVG had interfered with my super oneclick install..so I uninstalled it before I rebooted...for good measure.
 
I much prefer a minimal rom that is as close to pure Android as possible. I have no specific recommendations, though.

Ah, no worries. The reason I asked is because not long ago, I got a free trial of TrendMicro antivirus for my phone. I installed it, and it warned me of my SuperUser as malware or virus etc. So I uninstalled it. :)

I found out that the hiccup was due to not picking a custom app for that slide on locked screen. Pretty cool feature. I can basically dedicate that slider to be any app I want. i never seem to be able to get at my camera quick enough...so that was my selection.
 
HELP....if you guys are still around...

The novelty of the ROM has worn off.
Some how I have lost my backups....BAD (I saved all the files from my old computer to DVDs...so I may be able to retrieve what I need, but I do not know what I need???
...Left my self open there..lol
I seem to be unable to get back to true factory stock by doing a reset in Recovery Mode.

Also, what happened to click on a link, and download a file? Are those days gone. Must I go through ad bloated installers for everything now?? If so, I can deal but is there another way?

I just want a stable phone. Can I get back to stock? Can I flash some other ROM that will function as well or better than stock. I do not care about any lost personal data, apps, files, etc. Just wanna move forward. THANKS
 
I looked around and from what I have seen a lot of the stock roms have either been taken down or the sites they were hosted on have closed. I hope someone else can give you a link to the stock firmware, otherwise you'll have to stick with a rom like CyanogenMod.

Frazzled AGAIN. I have written you back 4 times now...and keep losing them!!! AAARGH.

I think I can trudge my way through some of this. I did find some Stock GB ROMS on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s-4g/development

It is just so friggen (can you say that on here?) hard to decide which one to attempt to flash. Some say to install with Odin, Heimdall, Flash with CWM, which is the best? Flashing with CWM seems like it would be the simplest. My mind is as confused as a three nosed aardvark at a termite convention.

I have also found my missingT-Mobile Wifi-Calling apk on XDA....hidden in plain sight at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s-4g/development ***SMH*** I have been here before, and forgot how to search to find it again I guess! I have been without this feature for months, and in Western Michigan...it is Vital. Now I have it, and cannot get it installed, pushed, etc. Instructions say to use Super Manager....Reviews say it installs maleware on your phone....ggrrrr. Any suggestions would be appreciated

**** I installed Super Manager, folowed the directions given to install Stock GB 2.3.6 APKs at the "repository" mentioned above. STILL NOTHING****

Sorry, I attempted to write this a few times....must have been in one of the lost messages.

*When Battery is Low (like below 20%): All system files start to FC...in rapid succession. Phone is unusable, until I get a good charge again.

*I can't watch netflix or Youtube videos on my phone.

*I cannot install Wifi-Calling APK or push anything effectively.

My phone becomes so unstable, that I have to go into recovery, and re-flash ROMs. I am so sick of reloading apps and changing settings, and finding a keyboard that works right.

This time, I think I ended up on Valhalla Black FB edition...might just be Black...that is all it says in ABOUT PHONE

Pretty Much. At least some variety, there of.

My first issue was a huge Battery Drain and over-heating with Valhalla Black when running Google Navigation, I switched to Valhalla Final, and got really buggy with FCs all over, as I described. ValBlack FB Edition is pretty stable....but No matter what I cannot get the videos to work, or continue working (yup, sometimes I get lucky and install the right app/update/codex...and it works for a day. Videos from my camera and some websites are fine...never on Facebook, YouTube, netflix. Except for the random lucky day....when I do something, and can never duplicate it.

A huge problem is the Wifi-Calling apk not installing. I follow the directions, fix permissions....nada!!! and I really need that stock T-Mobile App badly!

Thank you for listening to me rant. Any suggestions...and please don't suggest medication. (Seriously though, I was just prescribed a "Smart Pill"....You don't get them for being particularly smart....they are given to dementia patients.)
