SweeterHome2 Beta

Q: How do I get screen captures of landscape themes? When I turn my phone into landscape mode and perform a screen capture, the images come out as portrait mode with only portion of my landscape screen showing... very odd.

That's strange, I thought this might be a bug, but just tested mine and it works fine.

I am not using Beautiful Widgets, I use Weather Widget Donate instead. I think I am having the same issue though with the Widget not updating properly.

I have unfortunately changed back to Home++ because I was spending so much time editing and getting FC on SH2. When it would FC, I would lose the edits that I made and have to start over.

Am I to understand that a Task Killer used on SH2 will fix this problem?

Widget updating issues have been fixed and will be in the next public build.

If you're getting FC while using PLEASE make sure you're logging bug reports. Otherwise the Dev team can't fix it! :D

OK, so you have two widget instances of the same widget app, right? And in one you have ticker a and in the other you want ticker b. But they're BOTH showing ticker a or b (when you change one, the other also changes)... Is that correct???

And to confirm, this doesn't happen on the stock Android home? Both widgets (even though they're the same app) show and hold different info depending on set up.

Is that all correct?

exactly correct

@Punyweakling (gdi wat is yur name lol i feel like im bein mean calling you that) could you ask the dev about adding ALL the trays to the list that comes up when you long press to edit? currently i'm only getting like the tagged trays and a couple custom trays. this would make it even more user friendly/phenomenal :D

My biggest concern right now is what type of optimization the dev is planning before release. While SH P2 has a ton of features I love, there is definitely some sluggishness to it (e.g. scrolling throughthe "All Apps" tray, moving back from screen to a previous one, etc)

Reaally looking forward to the release version :)
(Btw, any eta on that?)

how often are you cleaning yur cache? mine never lags on any screen or tray :p

i've asked the eta directly to the dev in another section of this forum and no reply. PUNY!!! can you ask please? lol the "fix" for bw didn't work for me. maybe if he could just release an update on the fix you said he did for this? purdy pwease?:D

well that's a tricky question. as of now you have to go into each app that stores data and clean from there (manage applications in settings and click on each one. i suggest you make a list of the ones that need cleaned so you don't have to remember each time.) i'm rooted and have an app called cachemate that cleans up to 80 caches. the more you clean yur cache(s) the less fc's you have too. hope this help (if you've never cleaned yur browser cache i bet it's full)

You can edit all the trays. However, when you long press on a tray to select a different tray that is underneath you should long press ABOVE the area that the other tray is located. EX:

If you have a search widget at the top of your screen and an image tray that takes up most of the screen above it... If you long press the bottom of the image tray it will only show trays that are underneath the bottom section. You would need to long press the TOP section of the image tray to have the option of selecting the search tray - because it would be underneath the section you long pressed.

The dev has released several updated private betas that are being tested in preparation for a new public beta release. The beautiful widget update issue has been fixed and many others. Look for a new public beta to be released within a day or so. I know that about 20 or more bugs have been fixed.

That is excellent news. I think we all need a donate link. ;)

I am super excited to be a part of such a great app during this early release period. Yes, it has a learning curve. But man! The options are limitless ... or somewhere there-about. :D

This app could be responsible for the success of the android platform. If Google was smart they would pay the developer a couple of million and incorporate it into the ROM.

Would have to be a bit more user friendly no doubt.

You can call me Lemon :)

Like Shaneaus said, it's designed to bring up an edit list for everything directly under where you long press.

I would highly doubt that. I know it's a BETA but it will need to be allot more stable than it is now. In addition it's not the easiest app to use. ( I see you mentioned that) The majority of Android users would not take the time to learn how to create their own theme. Heck half of the android users I know struggle to know what their phone is capable of now. The users on this site are an educated group albeit a small percentage compared to the majority of Android owners.

That could be solved with a good theme management system. The user could install one of many pre-programmed themes or do his own.

I posted this over on the sweeter home forums, but it may get a quicker response here.

Does anyone know if it is possible to have a sprinboard open one thing and close another with one click? What I'm trying to do is open a custom tray while hiding the widgets in the background, all in one click. Can't seem to figure out how to do that

Gorgeous app. Very "android". What I mean is, that if you want to get the most out of it, you gotta get your hands dirty and use your head a bit.

I've been playing with it for a couple of days yet, and still haven't settled on how I want everything to work.

Great job so far.
