SweeterHome2 Beta

LOL, oh you mean a flaw that might effect approx 1% of total users? A+ for your hyperbole though :D

Yes, I know that I'm in the minority here, but I also think that most users would love to not have to deal with the notification bar, if they could hide it or "unhide" it at will. We love our wallpapers and I think that the bar does them an injustice.

That said, is there somewhere we can request a feature?

I'm telling you, if the notification bar can at least be hidden, this would be the best app for the Droid period. It could go on the market for $20 and many, myself included, would gladly pay it.

I have no problems with the notification bar.

Well, that's wonderful! I'm glad you don't.

I said "most", not all. I don't want this thread to turn into a pro/con regarding notification bars. I'm just saying that most people I have talked to seem to like the idea about being able to hide it on occasion.

That could be solved with a good theme management system. The user could install one of many pre-programmed themes or do his own.

Quick question. I have made a couple of my own themes and saved them to my SD. If I uninstall and reinstall with a newer version of the SH2 beta program will I be able to reload those themes or do I have to redesign them?

I spent a few minutes playing with Sweeter Home, and it is very cool, but the dragging of the applications once they are overlayed is a pain in the <censored>

I wish I had a mouse to move that stuff around, do they make one for the droid :p

Now, a cool app would be one to control your droid with the computer, or to create the design for it on the computer, and then port it to the unit. I can dream, can't I ;)

I have to agree with DroidJnkie.....after getting used to the less "glaring" look of the notification bar on the bottom, I'd love for Sweeterhome to be able to look as streamline as ++Home. Let's hope it becomes an option :)

Sorry, I don't agree with most users not liking the notification bar. I love it!

What I would LOVE TO SEE if for the ability to make the notification bar auto hide and pop up when a notification arrives - then stay there till I clear the notification... But, I would rather have it all the time than not have it at all.

Almost everyone I know that has an Android device likes the ease of use the notification bar provides. The one or two that don't just use their device as a phone and don't really text, tweet, or anything else. But, what a wonderful option to have - to hide it if we want or to move it.

That said I posted a feature request right after Home++ came out for the dev to add being able to put the Notification Bar in a control block.

Joe be patient :) let him/them fix the bugs... do not need to be rushed :) otherwise there will be more bugs :)

I'm trying to be patient ... I usually am a very patient person. But it's hard to be patient since 4 days ago when, in this post, punyweakling told us that the widget issue was fixed. :( As of yesterday, I stopped using widgets on my primary homescreen because I'm tired of looking at the wrong time. And it's not just Beautiful Widgets.

Whatever... I'll just go back to the stock homescreen until they release the next version.

I think Joe needs someone to pet him and calm him down. He's getting a little irritated.

A patch for the widgets would be nice. It is my only nagging complaint. I can deal with the FC's and crashes, but having to go into edit mode to refresh widgets all the time is a big pain. Nothing else works at this point.

Come on, I'm American, I want everything now! A job would be nice too!

There is potential for parts of themes not to work depending on updates to the SH framework. Over the private beta period on my test themes I lost springboards, and sometimes apps. So it's possible you'll need to rebuild at some stage in the future - possible. But not really likely.

I'm not even experiencing FC's and crashes. Maybe 1 a day ... usually as I edit a lot.

I have a job and wish I didn't for the last week so I could spend the time playing with sweeter home. :)

I guess I've been lucky, I haven't seen any FC's or much in the way of slow downs. I have seen the problem of widgets not refreshing.

Can somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong. I have read as many topics as I can find on SH2 but I am still having problem with something as simple as loading an image onto my theme.

I have just updated to the latest build hoping that that would fix my problem but it still fails to load a new image.

Steps I am taking:
Open SH2
Edit Theme
Menu>Clear All
New>Picture
Set layer to 1
Change IMage
Change System Wallpaper to Internal Device
Load an image (I have tried small and large pics, JPG and PNG. Nothing works)
Press the back key to go back
Press the back key again to return to main theme

it then either force closes or just fails to load the new image.
