SweeterHome2 Beta

Getting pretty close to the way I like it. No purty colors ... just function. ;)

Quick workaround for the image bug is to set the image up and back out to edit mode. Copy the image, delete it, then paste. Until it's fixed. I shoulda caught this one in the private build so apologies. It's logged with the dev.

Finally figured out what to do with my 5th desktop (below the homescreen). I made a screen just dedicated to Speed Dials.
Yea ... this app is pretty cool.

Looks really good but can't properly try it because I keep getting an error about trying to use a recycled bitmap or something. Oh well, reported bug hopefully will be fixed soon :)

edit- after changing back to touch flo, auto backlight wouldnt work, tried turning it off and on again but didn't work so had to restart phone. Another bug I guess.

As a side note regarding issues with updating SH:

While I was private beta testing I was advised to uninstall SH from the Application manager prior to installing an updated version.

Installed Android SDK and so now I can finally get screenshots of my landscape setup... so here's how it looks.

On top of that, I updated my theme to v2.1... find it in the themes database (still OrganizedMess_v2).

I think your screens are the best I have seen. I like the functionality and the look. Great Job! Are you going to upload for other to try or perhaps put on the market?

On my droid at least, latest update is more unstable than orginial install. Get lots of FC's, usually "bitmap size exceeds VM budget" or something like that.

This is very frustrating . . . .why am I not able to add the Pure Calendar Widget to one of my screens? It just says "loading data" forever and does not load. Does anyone else have this problem???

OK I have been playing with this all weekend to the exclusion of pretty much everything else. This is so addictive!
I have a couple of questions though. When I first started learning how to make a tray I sort of goofed. How do I totally delete what I did? I would like to reuse the name but every time I try to use that particular name that ruined tray pops up.
Also, I don't want to list every single app on my phone in my apps list. I just don't want to see things like Amazon mp3 and Facebook and the various home replacement apps etc. But I accidentally got happy when I was adding to my general Apps tray and now I can't figure out how to remove certain apps from it. Surely there is a way? I looked everywhere but I just can't find a trashcan. This app is just too clean!

I have this same problem, too. I saw that calendar on this thread and downloaded it. I get the "loading data" message and decided to try it outside of sweeter home to determine if the calendar download didn't work or is it having a problem with sweeter home. It worked outside of sh. I have nothing else to offer than the comfort of knowing you are not alone.

I solved the problem!

While in "edit mode", long tap on the "select widget" frame. Go down to the last item on the list, where you can select the widget. Pick Pure Grid Calendar. Next, go up the list to "configure", and then pick your calendar. Afterwards, get out of "edit mode", and your calendar is there!

Woohoo!! :D

Thank you! You did it! Of course, once I went try to get out of edit mode I got the "bitmap size exceeds VM budget" message so it didn't save the change. GRRRRRR! I am trying to be positive - the more I repeat the steps the more I will remember how to do it.

reduce the size I think that should fix it..

sometimes rebooting will fix the stupid error problem. . .

OK, this was way SCARY

I decided to reboot, since I was getting some FCs, I decided to uninstall, and re-create my main page, and it turned out beautiful, but for some reason the unread gmail widget wouldn't work, but other than that, it was very nice

Once I rebooted, I got the startup screen of the droid eye, and it wouldn't go past it, if I clicked the screen, I could feel the haptic feedback, so the pattern screen was behind the eye.

I couldn't enter the pattern, and get into my phone, so, I called it, declined the call, and at that point I could enter the pattern.

Which lead me into a blank screen, only the status bar was showing, which I opened the ATK and killed SweeterHome. This brought me to the main, page, which immediately ran Home Switcher, selected GDE, and I am not touching Sweeter Home until this has been stabilized.

The scare of bricking my phone is not worth using the application

Too bad

Check my sig, This is Droid specific, and until someone can get the dev a logcat DURING boot it can't be fixed...

Anyone have any issues with Pure Calendar Widget not working? I'm putting it in a widget frame and it's just hanging at "loading". I've tried rebooting.

This widget is a MUST for me, and as much as I'm enjoying this homescreen replacement it will make me switch back.

EDIT: Got it! You have to go in to the Sweeter Home edit for that widget and THEN go in to the application configure before it'll load.

OK, I have played with this a good part of the last few days. I can tell it has great features and am very motivated to adopt it. But how the heck, step by step, did you do this? I'd send you my phone to set it up for me, but I'd rather "be taught to fish":o.....

I may be stupid but all I've accomplished is choosing a theme. And that's all I've managed. If I try to set up a drawer I can't add widgets. I often get a recangle showing my contacts without having added them, and then I can't get rid of them without returning to a default empty screen. Then I've had to download the theme again......I've called up that 9 spot grid and resized it to my heart's content, but can't add anything to it. Don't even ask where I've gotten with "springboard".

Is there hope for me? Is there somewhere, somehow I could get a manual so I could read it and protect myself from the inevitable and appropriate RTFM replies? Do I, as a dedicated Mac user, need to learn the windows way of thinking to get anywhere with this:eek:

If anyone is having FC's with the new build.. save your theme on SD... uninstall it and re install it again.. I have not seen any FC's..

Only error message i see is Error inflating widget.. if anyone knows how to fix it..
