The DX has Froyo and the Fascinate does not (yet)![]()
Con is that the DX has a locked bootloader and the Fascinate does not.
What's not to love about the large display that the Droid X has!!
(Now if I could just convince my wife of that!)I've owned both phones. The Droid X is better, hands down. The Fascinate has a poor user interface compared to the X. There's more menu navigation required to conduct certain tasks, such as email and other issues.
There's a problem with syncing your email on the fascinate as well. If you exit out of email, it will stop checking for it every few minutes, as opposed to running a background service like the Motorola.
Also, because it's OS is outdated, you won't have access to a lot of apps in the market, such as Google Earth and others.
Also, the Fascinate uses Microsoft Bing. There is no google on the phone and you can't add it. All of your searches turn up through there, so you'll have to deal.
The Fascinate does have a far better display and an excellent camera, neither of those outweight the Droid X's programming though. Motorola did it right when it comes to customization of this phone.
The Fascinate use an app menu system that doesn't alphabetize. It goes in the order you installed, and you have to scroll to the side. It doesn't sound like an issue, but it is VERY awkward when you use it.
Samsung has done very little for its customers. Yes, they make beautiful hardware and it's reliable. However, the software is very outdated and you'll end up missing out on a lot of good free apps.
