Swype avail for Eris

Thanks...Made my day..;)

Actually, the one that is 1.95mb, although it appears the same,

is NOT the same as the old one. It doesn't FC at all that I've found, you can even hold the delete key.

Perfect.

That 8mb one I will try for fun, but I'm pretty sure that it's a waste of your time and phone memory.

Is anyone having trouble deleting words that you may have accidently added? Nothing seems to happen when I double click on a word. Thanks for the help.

After downloading (even from two different sources) I get 'There is a problem parsing the package' when trying to run the .apk file.

Strange.

Can't win 'em all.

The 1.95mb one works great anyway. I don't think the keyboard is bigger (or if it is, not that I notice), and it works very stable, and great. The 7.45MB one may be related to the fact that it supports a host of other languages? I have no idea.

Wish I could install this puppy though.

I was able to install the 8mb file fine. Now I'm wondering if I should uninstall it and go for the 2mb file.

Just double click the delete button. This works fine for me. And if you want to change a word, just click/move cursor right after the word and hit the Swype symbol and it gives you all different options what you might have wanted for that word. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I mean delete words that you have added to the swype library. Thanks for your help.

I've been using Swype all day and it's really much easier to "type" than the stock keypad. Although I'm having trouble figuring out a way to keep the swipe going when I spell a word that has 2 of the same letter consecutively LoL.. Like "sweet" or "too"

Loving it though!

Tutorials are god for this. Ill drop a hint for ya though, scribble over that letter that you want a double of. Once you do it a few times, it is very simple. But I would recommend doing the tutorials as it helped me a lot when I first installed it.

Do a little "loopty loo" over the double letter with your finger and carry on swiping. It's genius.

Had the first beta version for a couple weeks then it seemed to get buggy with lots of force closes. Just started using the newer version and liking it much more. The keyboard buttons are much larger and there's a lot more functionality. Thanks for keeping us updated with this amazing app.

I loaded swype and ran it for 3 days last week. Didn't like it, I can't see the keyboard with my fat fingers so I had mistakes a lot. I was amazed at how accurate I was at times but slowed me down way too much.

I uninstalled it half the time it wasn't using the words I wanted so id have to wait to make sure the right words were being put in

I been using the first version since it's been out and it worked great. This new version is a lot better on an already great product.
I'm a swypen" fool now! Man it's fast!:)

I had swype installed on my moto droid when I had it and it was great! I was soooo disappointed when I got the Eris and discovered (at the time) that swype wasn't available :( I quickly downloaded and installed the first version that was available for the eris. I did notice that it was a lesser version than I had on my moto droid, but I was happy to have it at all. Well, I just downloaded the upgraded version (with no issues I might add), and it is just like the Moto droid version!! It has a lot more options when pressing the sym button. Except I think that it would auto-captialize on the Droid??? But its not an issue for me. Swype makes the Eris, or any touch phone so much better. I was very impressed with the stock keyboard on the Eris, but swype is just so cool and fast. And I like that I can easily switch back and forth between the two!

"Except I think that it would auto-captialize on the Droid"

Auto cap would be nice, but I'm getting very used to "over-the-top" of the keyboard captialization trick.

Can I get a PM of the link to the 2MB new version? Thanks in advance!

Actually I think it is a 7MB version pared down to about 3MB when the additional languages are stripped out. But, that said, me too :)

Anyone have a stripped down version?

Is there a striped down version of the new one? Searched high and low and found nothing. Add me to that list so I can update the first post and let future lookers know where to get it.

Just got my Eris week ago and am having so much fun playing with it. This forum has made customizing it sooo much easier, so I've been searching and luring BUT... Swype has made the biggest difference of any app I've tried.

I LOVE THIS APP! Whoever came up with it is a genius and needs a serious halo!
