Root Swype for Evos

I did a little research on this. Seems that it's been a known issue for a few beta releases, and the only fix is to switch to a different keyboard, and back. I'll see if I can find more on it.
 
Signed up weeks ago, just got me email and installed. Takes a little time getting used to, but I like it.

One question, does anyone know how to move the cursor back or forward in a line of text? I do not want to erase text with backspace and my fingers are way to big to get the cursor exactly where I want it at times. On the Evo keyboard there are arrow keys for those types of movements. Any suggestions? Am I missing something?

swype from the 'S' tips key (lower left) to the SYM key.
You'll get another keypad to use cursor functions, cut, copy, paste, etc.

This is it. Swyping from the 'S' (Swype key) to the SYM key gives you some cool things.

I found that and a lot more interesting tips on how to use Swype here...for anyone interested :)

And yes, its taken a little getting used to, but now im used to it, and i skrate up love it. Glad i finally got it.

Does anyone know how to remove or find the .apk so that i can save it on my computer for use with other roms later down the road?
 
I got it. Ill install it tomorrow on a different rom and try it out to make sure it works. I thought i looked there and didnt see it but wasnt looking close enough.
 
is anyone having any problems with the new swype? i have v2.7.49.12469... i think that's the newest. unless im going crazy i could swear i keep deleting words out of the dictionary and they keep reappearing.

the problem is specifically with the word tio. does swype automatically re-add words if they're people's names in your phonebook? because i have an uncle in there saved as tio _____, is that why that word keeps reappearing? it really interferes with "to" lol
 
I have a few words that keep reappearing too, and sometimes they reeeeally frustrate me lol. Hopefully as swype evolves, they improve the user dictionary and access to deleting words!
