Swype Trial Period Ended?!?! wtf

Thanks to all of you who helped me get my Swype back. Looking through this thread, there are three different files that you can download. They are;

I used the last one (3) on my Eris and it works. Don't know about the other two. Does anyone know what are the differences in the files?
 
Do you have color themes on your phone with Sed's link? If so how? I had a green theme that I really liked before that annoying expiration message came up. Thanks to Sed I'm back up with Swype but with the original color keyboard...

1st was provided by sed, I don't know where it came from, but it has the original Swype theme and supports English and Spanish. 2nd and 3rd ones have the HTC theme (white keys, no navy blue).

They're almost identical, except that the 3rd one doesn't have Spanish (so it's about 500k smaller). I made the 3rd one by replacing the images in the 1st one with the HTC themed ones from sh0ebox's HTC Swype, removing Spanish, and re-zipping. Simultaneously sed did the same thing himself, and he posted the 2nd one before me. But his (the 2nd one) still has Spanish.
 
Thank you Sed you are a life saver. Now I know what I would do without Swype, turn my phone off and put it in my pocket. I can't imagine going back to the standard input.
 
I too would like to thank sed! fine work! Can't seem to get rid of the fed back vibration though :( I have turned of vibration in local and text. Any ideas?
 
For some reason I can't get it to install. Could someone walk me through the process so I can make sure I'm doing it right?
 
Use astro file manage. Look in your downloads folder in sdcard root. Select it and it should give the option to install.
 
Someone said that Swype has a speech-to-text feature but I can't find it. Is this right? I checked under menu
 
So I downloaded SED's and then installed it but it is not appearing in my list of apps. When I go into it via Astro's file manager and hit Launch, I get "Activity not found com.swype.android.inputmethod"

Did I do something wrong? Any way to fix?
I am on 2.1

*why don't those goobers let the free market handle this? (as opposed to contracts with specific carriers?) I'd pay $10 or more for a swype app.

Well I don't know about the $10, but I agree with everything else.

i edited all the keyboards with blue, but when i re-zip it and change it back to apk i go to install it...it recognizes it and then says installing and then says "Application not installed" i duno what i'm doing wrong
 
I'm using the 2.1 OTA software.

I never previously had any version of Skype installed on my Eris.

I just downloaded and installed Swype off of one of the links posted. I went to menu->settings-> language and keyboard and made sure that Swype was checked.

Swype isn't working for me though. What might I have done wrong? Any ideas? Thanks!

In the text field where the cursor is touch and hold until the pop up spars with text input, select that and then Swype.
