T-Mobile FROYO update

I hate these operators who think that they are making customers happy by putting all the stupid bloatware on our phones.
 
I might be wrong but I think they've pulled it because they released the German version... what a joke.

I had an update available this morning, but now apparently my phone is up to date so it's fair to say they've disabled it for the moment. Bah.
 
I've asked them why it was available to me earlier and not anymore.

Their explanation that it's being "Rolled out over a couple of weeks" sounds like bollocks to me, they just screwed up. The poor Twitter support team probably don't have any more of a clue than we do. Sadly. Depressingly.
 
"Hi b0ng0, if you did not update when prompted, it will be back at a later date for you, The German links are being investigated. Thanks."

I agree, it is rather ridiculous. A small error is one thing, but to release an update containing German bloatware is a disgrace!

I think you are correct. Several sources are reporting it has been pulled because the wrong version has been released. We will all be prompted to download the correct update in due course apparently.
 
So glad that I don't have to deal with all this hassle in order to get a bloated German ROM :-/

It's not all that bad. Just a couple of German apps that i'll never even see on my homepage. The main and important stuff is all there.
 
I uninstalled swype from settings manage applications, and then tried to rerun the installer.

Not having much joy though just keeps saying "downloading swype" with a rotating circle - tried twice after pulling the battery first time - being going 10 mins this time - should i continue?

Okay got it working now

I re downloaded Swype and installed and enabled ,but when i write a message its nowhere to be found,tried a coupla times now ,no joy.:cool:

You did long press in text area and change the input method back to swype?

Sorry to point out the horrendously obvious but just in case...

Fricking T-mobile! They pulled the last 2.1 update as well, and we never got it back!

So what, if you miss the 4 hour window, tough tits?

It's definitely been pulled, mate. Several sources are reporting that it's been pulled. If I'm honest, I can't even be bothered to check whether or not T-Mobile have confirmed this officially.
 
wonder what happens if you have already downloaded the update?
think we will be able to re-download the english version when its released?

its not a massive deal really, but it would be nice to have the correct update lol
 
since updating on sunday my phone has started to slow and browsing and scrolling has become laggy and a bit stuttered. Anyone else found this?
 
no same here i checked yesterday and again today but nothing just thought whilst im at home with wi fi will give it a try nd yep it flagged it
